I've moved it to the right one (although tech or product discussions are certainly allowed in the Lounge, I felt this thread fits better in its dedicated forum).

We can't post about tech stuff in the lounge? I'm confused.

At any rate, I hope Apple keeps the mini and drops the price. With Front Row (and they'd better include the remote; dropping that from the MacBook line was so stupid), it makes a good little HTPC.

Moving to a mini DisplayPort would be kind of dumb...it just means more bulky adapters for those of us with DVI displays (e.g. most of the country). Unless the DisplayPort standard only includes the mini connector, they should put full-size connectors on desktop hardware, IMO.
Sell or send me your vintage Mac things if you don't want them.

No it's not! Spending $30 for an adaptor just so you can use the most common type of monitor is perfectly reasonable!! </lounge opinion>

Not to mention I don't think there is an adaptor from mini displayport to composite video... which scuppers anyone with a standard def TV!

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

Whoops! Meant to say they are allowed, by all means, but that sometimes with certain subjects they fit better in a dedicated forum.

Thanks for commenting otherwise I would have never noticed the typo.

Mac minis kind of made sense for low-end hosting when Apple wouldn't support virtualization, but now it just seems strange.
