So, some notes:

• Had a bout of insomnia last night and logged on to get most of the structure up. Already have some modifications planned.
• Red/Green Line depth appears to be 48. Current "floor" of the station basement is around 56 I believe. Do we want to make the basement floor 48/49 or can we go higher? Need to know because this may require more elaborate stairs.
• What do you guys thing about smooth stone for the outside facade, instead of smooth brick?
• How about some red carpeting for the interior floor? Not wall to wall, however. More like a fancy hotel.
• Thinking vaulted ceilings for the basement terminal.
• Using Tectonicus' cardinal directions, Red line (sek) will arrive from the West, Blaze from the North, Laminar for the East, and the Green line (andi) from the South.

1: I was planning on bringing my rail up to meet whatever the basement level would end up at, I think having the basement at 48 is a bit to deep and would require a cavernous basement area.

2: Whatever you think would look best, I do agree that having the whole facade as stone brick would look monotonous.

3: Carpeting is a good idea, but I will also make use of red wool for the Red Line departure area so as long as you don't think it would clash.

What's Blaze's rail at? To me, much like with the NPC village line, I think it makes the most sense to have it flush with it's general traveling elevation, though it is less important below ground.

Well, that's why I'm asking everyone. Something about the smooth brick seems less appropriate for the design, but I'll go with the consensus.

What were you thinking? I was going to identify each terminal by color but I didn't have any too specific idea yet, mostly because I need to figure out the stairs first.

Edit: Is Laminar even officially signing on off on having his rail join the station? I don't think he is.

Then we should have the floor at 48/49 (Floor is 49, tracks inset at 48). It'll make the vaulted ceilings look more awesome anyway.

Facade stone preference?

Looks really good so far Dakar. I took a peek this morning.

If Laminar doesn't want to be part of the hub, wouldn't it be best to put the green line on the east side and save the south for a future rail?

I rage quit last night after (for the second time) I hopped into Fatty's XP grinder cart, pressed the button, and promptly got send into the cobblestone wall, depleting my health. I was stuck, so I quit, only to find myself again in the cavernous area behind his grinder.

Since I accidentally broke the elevator last time, I knew I'd have to spend time finding an alternate route out, and got frustrated enough to quit. I'll get back on when I feel like venturing through that area. Some coordinates would help, but that's a laborious process to ask someone to go through.

As I haven't been on much in the past week, I need to look at what's proposed before really voting. I have no idea what it looks like.

Also, my absence and lack of involvement in the project makes my opinion of less consequence, obviously.

The next snapshot will include the new height limit.

They're adding breeding for villagers (Can't wait for overpopulation) and lamps (redstone powered light sources). My excitement is completely dependent on how nice they look.

Yeah, we need to be organized about how we do it. I have a feeling it'll be much easier to install the smooth stone walls as we excavate (Hopefully the majority of the walls are cave stone already).

Also, I need to add a smooth stone floor under the current lobby floor.

Edit: I should probably consider how best to install stairs, but **** it.

That seems kind of creepy. And also unnecessary, unless villagers are going to start dropping diamonds on death.

You know I'd really appreciate it if they finally created a block that let you survive falls (or take reduced damage). This project is screaming for it.

Hmm, looks a little bit too much like glowstone. I'd have been willing to use iron in there to make it more lantern-like.

The block doesn't look all that different from glowstone...

I'm sure I'll use them, but this isn't exactly what I was expecting.

It makes sense, but I'd appreciate a light source I can create without glowstone. They should have made it a ring of redstone dust with one glowstone dust.

On the plus side, I believe it's recoverable, unlike glowstone blocks.

So do we feed them wheat too, or is it natural?

It'd be nice to have an army of 300 NPCs walking slowly across a plain.

They do it themselves.

A great easter egg would be a music disc that makes them get it on when played around them, though.

Some of the commenters on facebook are saying this promotes gay marriage. I can't tell if they are being ironic or not.

But do they actually pair bond or is it just with whoever is around? There's a different term for that.

Got rained out today, figure I'll clear the basement area out, one question though...

I assume we will be 'facing' the interior of the basement with something nicer than a random smattering of sand, gravel and dirt....but will the interior dimension be the same as the upstairs? Meaning, I'd have to created another row of gravel in order to remove the wall that is currently holsing back the water for it to be replaced with a different material.

The basement will be smooth stone (with smooth brick arches), but what wall are you talking about? The back wall already has been graveled (actually I covered all gravel with stone, so we can dig out the river back to normal).

Edit: Any opinions of the bushes I added outside? I logged on briefly to add/modify a few ideas yesterday.

At least one of the exterior walls is still up against water, so removing the gravel/sand would let water in. I'll not worry about that now, ill just clear the inside dimension all the way down to my track level, or should it be one above my track level?

The North wall, maybe? I seem to recall putting some thought into it yesterday.

Dig to level 49, one above track level.

I'm having second thoughts about the side walls. I thought the station was too angular before, but the curved slope isn't working for me either (It clashes). I'm not going to actively worry about it now, but don't be surprised if the lobby sees a facelift in the future.

The more I removed the more I realize how utterly cavernous the basement is going to be. Seems like a perfect place to showcase new lanterns.

What are you thinking? I already plan on hanging lights, but the new lanterns need redstone power, and I don't see that being sexy for free-floating blocks.

I guess hanging glowstone blocks will work just as well.

Another question. I almost have it all excavated to one block above rail depth, do you have any plans for the flooring material? If it is smooth stone I can just remove whatever dirt and gravel are at that level to be replaced by smooth stone. If the floor in large part is going to be another material I might as well remove the layer at 49 as well.

For now smooth stone, to match the walls. We (i) can start getting creative once we see how Blaze sets up the exchange. And I do the stairs.

Edit: If you don't mind, post a pic of the place excavated. I'm really curious.

As in width? I might have went one block to far in one direction, but the dimensions should be exactly the same as the building above. The wall that is all smooth stone was the one you backed up with more gravel so I know that one is perfect.
