Gotta agree, for what seems to be an older building he's in, that is one sweet job. (especially the clock)

Not a very good picture... My Quicksilver 867 and Lombard G4/500, plus iPod. On the left there you can see my girlfriend's old PowerBook 5300cs.

(I knew I would fall in love with her the first time she saw my flat and said "Oh, I'm so glad you're into Macs". I don't think she realised the significance of her words at that point )

Geez. I can't miss out on the fun....

Here's what the room looks like most of the time. I need some organization but...

This is: G4/400 with 1.6 gigs of ram (and newly added Radeon 8500 64M
video card) + 105 gigs HD space + iPod + 17" Studio display plus
Midiman Midisport 2x2 interface + Yamaha CS1X synth + Roland R-5 drums
+ Roland VS840EX plus assorted guitars and one very old banjo. Also,
my LaCie SCSI CD burner (CW-7502) + Adaptec 2906 PCI interface..

This is: webserver, main production machine for music + graphics plus everything.
This is the nerve center.

My wife's iMac DV SE is on the other side of the room connected via 100BT and she's got the
Epson PhotoEX printer on hers as well as her own iPod.

My addition to this page (finally!) Note the iPod in front of the iSub (I know...it's not really the iSub, close enough for this purpose though).

Okies, here's my setup, I know it sucks:

It's an 867 G4 with the GeForce 3, 1.5 gigs of RAM, the superdrive, and a single 80 GB HD. Actually, when I took that picture, I had a small 10 GB drive to keep the OSes on, because I was doing a HD data backup, and OS X is a pain in the butt to reinstall.
iPod cleverly hidden on desk, the powerbook is a 550 G4 with a 30 GB HD and 768 Megs of RAM.

Malum, I am incredibly envious of your setup! I love your wall colors and decor, and where did you get your astroboy figure? I've been looking all over for one just like that!

Xyzzy, welcome to the mac platform, and macnn btw

And, just while I'm thinking about it, ya might want to make your dock a little smaller? (drag up or down on that line between trash and the rest), heh, just in case (kinda figure you got it down already)

As I slowly add apps the dock seems to be getting smaller... I'm still having fun watching the icons zoom in and out...

If you look real close you might notice that is 10.2 there...

That box has never even booted 9.2.2 or 10.1.x and it doesn't even have a 9.2.2 system on it... I figure I'm new so why learn ancient stuff? I did a partition/erase/clean install right out of the box...

Thought I'd hold off on the pictures until my studio display arrived...got it today!! (it is awesome by the way!)...

I go for the minimalist approach to setups, although when I am half way through projects there is rarely even a space left to put down a pen...

Peace

Marc

P.S. My 'home' set up is as follows...

800 DP Powermac, 17" Studio Display, 5 Gig iPod, Canon S520 printer, H.P 990CXI printer, Yamaha YST MS 55D speakers & sub, Nikon 775 Camera...(+ usual DSL equipment inc ethernet Modem and Hub...) (also various G3 machines inc iMac 450 DV+ used for Team MacNN!)

Sharky: Who makes that clock, i.e. what is the brand, model and designer? I wonder whether we can get such a cool clock in the States. I've only seen some that project a much smaller image.

Hi raferx,

Quite a collection of gear!

OT, but I also have the DP One Gig, and attempted the 1.2ghz overclock but had to settle for 1066.

Any tips for hitting 1.2ghz? Do you know how to up the cpu voltage on these puppies?

Thanks!

Here I am with my gear:

...Yes, it is usually this messy. We were right in the middle of working on an editing job for Queen's University. Eventually I want to sell all of my remaining CRT's (I hate 'em!) and buy more LCD displays. I really do prefer the industrial design of the original Apple 15" LCD displays over the current model because of the telescoping and swivel head. My goal it to have at least 4 of these displays configured in an array like in "The Matrix". Ideally I would have a 3x3 array of displays... All hooked up to the same machine of course!

In case anyone is wondering why I have so much gear; the simple answer is that I am a Apple freak. I needed to find a way for me to be able to justify having all these toys - so I became a Film student Here @ Queen's web page .

I also worked as a producer for 3 years at Studio Q web page, which is our campus television show that is broadcast on CKWS (a local CBC affiliate). After I graduated film and moved on from Studio Q, I continued my studies as a computer sceince student (also at Queen's). I now work as a researcher in the Human Media Lab where we develop cool stuff web page .

Here is a paper about something cool I helped to make pdf

I am such an Apple Freak!

Actually I used a convex mirror, like the ones that can be found in variety stores (to stop theft) and hospitals (so people can see around corners)...
