... Even if Carter himself wasn't certainly an angel at his times - but a little better than average, probably yes.

(YAWN)

Ask Bill Clinton how it feels.

As we all know, foriegn policy was always Carter's strong suit

...get back to building houses Jimmy...or at least back to campaigning for the Nobel Prize.

Interesting.

Carter's foreign policy caused Americans in Iran to be taken hostage.

Hardly worth an opinion when it comes to foreign affairs, especially terrorism.

Not to disagree with above posts on Carter's weaknesses. But, he DID, in fact, help broker the Camp David Accords which fairly well put Egypt and Israel "at peace" with one another for the last quarter of a century. This was a HUGE achievement considering the massive population (relatively) of Egypt, its proximity to Israel, and that its lasted longer far longer than any of the other "peace deals" that have been struck in that region. I lived in Egypt from Jan '91-June '91(yes, during Gulf War I) and the very limited political discussions I had with people concerning things other than the current war that, at least Carter gave the impression that he wasn't outright hostile toward Arab nations.

This is a great inadvertant endorsement for Bush and Blair.
