Rep. Anthony Weiner Struggles to Explain Origin of Lewd Twitter Photo - FoxNews.com

I have photographs. I don't know what photographs are out there in the world of me," he said in one cable news interview, asked whether he'd ever snapped a photo like that of himself.
Rule 8: stupid people are funny.

He totally did it. Shame his sense of humor after the fact turned to rage when the press followed up.

Most disappointing thing is I haven't seen enough funny headlines given the infinitesimal odds of a penis scandal involving a guy who's last name is Weiner.

If I had to guess, he's had a marriage implosion, which is making him cranky.

Oh, Absolutely. I'm saying those are connected.

At least, that's the only reason I can think he's trying to swing such an unbelievable story. It's for his soon to be ex-wife's benefit.

He's not sure his is the weiner in question, but his wife probably is.

Also, given that it's basically an unsightly bulge in underwear, it really fails to live up to being the scandal it could be if we were talking full on wangsposure here.

Edit:

It's the twitter equivalent of the dog ate my homework. Haley Williams of Paramore fame did the same thing when she accidentally tweeted her tits out to all her followers.

Of course, the most heinous part of this is that he has a Twatter account. I don't know anyone with a Twatter account who doesn't deserve to die.

Got an account then Dak?

It's true... Twitter is full of twats who have nothing useful to say at all. If you're going to use social media to tell the world all the tiny details of your life, get a fsking Facebook page or something.

So, you have an elected politician (in charge of running the country) who's too stupid to realise that Twitter gets hacked and merely having an account could put his career/image/marriage in jeopardy?

Nothing "useful" was ever produced by a rock musician either. Who cares?

It's true. Live Aid wasn't at all useful. Neither was all that music you used to use to help persuade young ladies to let you molest them in the back of your daddy's car.

But the question is valid: Who cares? Apply to every thread in the pol lounge.

Yeah, no one's ever raised money for charity using Twitter. Point is, an artist complaining about something from the mindset of utilitarianism is idiotic. People listen to music because they like its content. People read Twitter because they like its content. Your music is just as useless as Twitter. In fact, I would go so far as to say that rock music is full of twats who have nothing useful to say at all.* If you are going to use music to tell the world about your life and opinions, get a fsking Facebook page or something.

*Sarcasm.

Actually, no - people pay money for my music.

Got shares in Twitter or something? I voice an opinion and you immediately attack me. No discussion about the people responsible for running the country using a social networking site, just an attack on me - like I'd just shagged your mom or something.

No, it's just that I find your cognitive dissonance about the worth of one essentially useless form of expression over another essentially useless form of expression to be a little disturbing (I presume you would find music interesting as a hobby or consumer even if people weren't paying you to produce it). I haven't said anything more inflammatory than you have said yourself.

My suspicion is that this entire Weinergate thing has Andrew Breitbart's fingerprints all over it. He was the first to break the "story" ... and it's not like he's above dishonest manipulation to serve his political purposes. Rep. Weiner is definitely not handling the situation well. I understand his reluctance to categorically deny that the picture is him. Who knows if there is a picture of him in his skivvies floating around from decades ago at some drunken frat party? The problem is his answers don't provide a reasonable and plausible scenario about how it could be a picture of him that has been manipulated. All I know is that in this age of Photoshop and with a right-wing operative with an axe to grind involved .... count me skeptical.

You think there's a cognitive dissonance when comparing the difference between perfecting 140 characters of shite and spending a year perfecting 74 minutes of shite?

While this could be Weiner's weiner, while he hasn't handling it well, while this and while that caveat, at the end of the day I don't really give a rat's ass and I think we have more important fish to fry.

Am I the only person seeing the irony of all of this? Where are all of the MacNN irony callers? How can I be first to the party? Hello?? IRONY.

The irony is that his last name is "Weiner" and all of this is about his wiener. Get it?

Seriously dude? Seriously? You thought you could get away with sending dong pics from your incredibly public twitter account? Seriously??

I was annoyed at all of the press this story had gotten the last few days since it seemed so obvious that no sane person would send a pic like that from his twitter account, but apparently A. Weiner is not so much sane.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

I think Weiner should resign or be forced to resign simply because he's an f-ing retard for using Twitter to cover up his sexy exchanges with these women.

Indeed. I was banking on this being yet another Andrew Breitbart hatchet job because there was no way this guy would be so incredibly stupid. But it appears that Rep. Weiner has just become the poster child for the old saying ....

Common sense isn't always so common.
