Hey guys, I'm looking to buy some ram for my macbook. Looking around, I noticed many types of series of digits that did not making any sense to me what so ever. Now, what do you guys recommend? Brand wise, and series wise? Also, what stores, and what does apple use for upgrades? THANKS!

the topic of what brands to get has been covered to death. use the search feature. i don't think people need to type the same things over and over. there is a thread with 39 replies specifically addressing the "brand issue"

the most important thing you should look for is "DDR2" memory. DDR is NOT compatible. DDR2 is compatible.

No matter what buy it off of newegg.com

They ship fast, their prices are low, and I love them long time.

A memory rep told me price wars are about to begin; notice rebates to begin now on through the holidays.

2nd the motion on Newegg for buying best deal.

In 30 days, many of us will kick ourselves for what we already paid.

Mark my words.

With all the DRAM companies being hit with a class action lawsuit, I doubt price wars are coming.

Buy two of these 1GB Crucial DDR2-667 SO-DIMMs from NewEgg and be happy. The comments claim Apple uses the same Micron RAM.

Yes, crucial is never a bad choice. They're unique because they make their own chips as opposed to Mushkin, Kingston, OCZ, Corsair, etc. that use Samsung or off brand chips.
