...was a great movie. It was well made and of course the acting was really good. It was about 2 and a half hours long but I almost wish it was longer! Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington were perfect for their roles. Anyone else seen it?

i was on the fence to see this until your thread.

just came from seeing it, and well, yeah it's long; but it's an interesting movie. shows a lot of the "behind the scenes" bits to this type of life that most mob movies don't.

4/5 for me

it had a lot of potential that i felt it didn't really live up to
still a good flick

best quote from the movie, "the loudest person the room, is also the weakest person in the room"

I saw it Sunday evening also and really enjoyed it, though I usually like to wait a good 24-36 hours afterwards to full absorb a movie, sometimes have that "ah" pop in or "oo" no such a good thing remember and such. Overall I felt it was very well done, I felt it was a big dragged out at certain points, but I think it has it reasons for being as long as it was.

Just saw it last night - thought it was kinda slow in the beginning when they were setting the characters. But overall, an excellent movie.

If anyone has read the NYTimes article this movie was based on, I think they (the movie) painted Lucas a bit too good of a man. Bottom line, he was a ruthless killer and drug king. The article painted a much clearer picture.

Something that seems to elude most drug kingpins. The guy had 52 million dollars socked away and blew it all for one more deal. WTF

He should be sitting on a yacht right now sipping champaign with Miss Puerto Rico.

Great movie. My favorite scene was when they were showing thanksgiving, the "thieving, murdering drug dealer" was having a picturesque thanksgiving dinner with his family, while the morally right, honest, cop was standing up eating a turkey sandwich with crunched up potato chips alone. The juxtaposition of these two men and their ideals was at its highest point right there, and I thought that scene was great.

Loved the movie too, although I did think they could have chopped off a few scenes to make it 2 hours...maybe I was just a little anxious towards the end cause I had to use the restroom but didn't want to miss any of the movie.

Good flick. One thing that confused the heck out of me: Richie Roberts was the lawyer at the end? WTF?

Pretty good movie. Didn't quite live up to my roommate's high praise, but still a quality flick.

The movie was good.... problem is I have seen the movie at least 5 times before except with an italian bad guy instead of a black guy.

Same old story we have all seen of a poor underclass person rising to the top with organized crime and falling at the end and either getting killed or selling out.

Same stage, different players.

At the beginning of the flick, he was just finishing night-school. He and his partner talk about it in the car.
