I was just over at the NY Times page reading today's Times, and it dawned on me that I used to pay lots of good money to have the NY Times delivered to my house, but now get it all for free (well, after having spent the money to get the computer, the monitor, the printer, the connection to the web, etc.--but you know what I mean). Some newspapers charge you to go on line--but the Times does not. How can it do that and survive??

I think the Times is on the payroll of many wealthy organizations, including the Pentagon, the (formerly known as) KGB, Saddam Hussein, the Chinese government, etc. etc.

The NYT makes more money off of ads than any other paper in the world.
Plus the print NYT and digital NYT are different- only the most major stories from each section go up. And I think it probally costs money to search the archives online. Most newspapers work this way...

heheh. Those Chinese are pretty wealthy. I would have thought that the Democratic Party would have been enough to support.
