Power Computing 225 or 250 on OS 9.22 ???

I know this is a pretty old system, but can it run OS9.22. We need to upgrade in order to run the new version of QuickBooks (5) which only runs on 9.22 or OSX.

I'm pretty sure that only OS X capable Macs can run 9.2.x.

There really should be a sticky about this. 9.22 only runs on G3s or better. You could upgrade with a G3/G4 card and then run XPostFacto to upgrade to OS X, but that's probably not worth it to you.

I guess I should have provided more information:
1) I am never going to need to take this machine into OSX. I *do* need to take it up to 9.22 only to run the new Quickbooks software.
2) There is a Sonnet g3 upgrade card in the system. I know that any "real" g3 can be upgraded to 9.22, but am not sure of these older, upgraded mobo's.

You could try upgrading it. You might want to try it on another system folder in case something goes wrong.

If you are gonna try it and the installer won't let you, you can manually extract the files you want using Tome Viewer. You can find this program on www.versiontracker.com

I'm pretty sure 9.0 or 9.1 is as far as you're going to get with that machine. Quite a few Power Computing owners (me included) have reported system behavior getting pretty weird running anything higher than 8.1, although it seems to be somewhat random.
Maybe with a G3 update card? Check with Sonnet.

I just saw something at Other World Computing that lets older Macs run 9.2.x. It's a free product, at the expense of technical support. I think I'm gonna try it with my PowerMax computer and see how it goes.
I just checked and noticed that my clone isn't supported, but support is coming along. You can check your model at the compatibility page http://www.os9forever.com/Compatibility.html
