I just get the feeling that apple will want to update the entire lineup because of Panther.

i'm sure the current ibook are fast enough for panther, but then again, would they show how great Panther is with lacking some things?

All the other apple hardware should be able to take advantage of all Panther's features, since the e-mac and ibook are behind, I assume they will be updated shortly after the realease.... I'll say before Thanksgiving in time for the crazy shopping season from that time till Christmas.

When ever new iBooks show up, I dont think it will have anything to do with Panther. No real reason why it should.

I think the eMac and iBook will be updated in the next month or two just because they're both due for updates. There's nothing in Panther that requires any new hardware (in fact, Panther will give a speed boost to older systems). Also, the hardware and software teams at Apple work on their own separate schedules. They develop products which are released when they're ready, regardless of the other.

As much as I want an iBook rev, I would expect a G5 Xserve to be the next hardware update. Unless, of course, Apple is planning on dropping the Xserve.

In two weeks no one will remember.

Predict G6's ... then we'll love you.
