I've been using Safari 1.2 and IE 5.2 for a good while now and suddenly the prefs wont stick, every time I launch either of them they are reset to default, anyone got any ideas ?

Maybe a permission problem with your "Preferences" folder...have you repaired permissions lately?

Also, make sure your drive isn't completely full. Although, you would probably notice many more things wrong with your machine if this were the case.

delete the prefs to the respective applications. try as another user.
