I've just upgraded the OS on my imac from 9.1 to 9.2.2, everything went well, except for when I plug in my firewire VST Smartdisk CDRW, the imac just locks, the mouse moves but nothing else happens. Its driving me mad !!! I've tried all the usual stuff, extensions 9.2.2 only etc. etc. Even trashed Toast titanium, all to no avail. What next ????

Try this. Go to the extensions manager in Control Panels, and disable the Disk Burner, FireWire Authoring Support, and USB Authoring Support. Reinstall Toast.
Hope this helps.

OK. It may be that when you updated, you lost the extensions for your firewire CDRW. Go to the website for your VST smartdisk and see if you can download the necessary extensions. Or call them, and have the tech guy email the extensions.
