Hey everyone,

I'm interested in selling my white MacBook, which is in as-new condition. The memory has been upgraded to 1.25GB which makes the machine fly and just last week the hard drive was upgraded to a 120GB. Comes in the original box with all the original packing and included items. Cheking the Apple website, a similar machine... which would only be configured with 1GB of memory... and 120GB HD comes to $1,649 plus sales tax which adds approximately another $100 on top of that. Mine is available for $1,550 with no sales tax. Comes to about $200 less and more memory.

Serious inquiries, please contact me to discuss further.

Thanks for your question MovieCutter.

It has the INtel GMA950 graphics. Honestly, I can see no performance issues at all. I span with a Sony 15" external LCD and it runs anything I throw at it without a stutter or any issue.

Thanks weazbert. Yes, it's the SuperDrive without any mooing, orange spots, etc. Actually, the number of problem machines is coming in pretty low oveerall. Of course, the forums focus on these issues but none of our clients who have new MacBooks have had any of the issues either.

Thanks imitchell. I love the machine but for my client presentations I think I'll be better off with a MBP. Kind of the opposite of what I want as I absolutely love everything about this MB, especially the size and the speed is incredible, but sitting around a desk with clients I am noticing how a bigger screen would help in those situations.

Whoever gets this particular MB will be getting a wonderful machine, that's a definite!

Hi JaNeDoe,

The hard drive is only two weeks old... a WD Scorpio from OWC that I installed. You may be aware that the hard drives are user serviceabe in the MacBook and only takes a couple of minutes to replace.

lowdaksport,

Thanks for the offer but I'm 100% Intel now! Good luck with your trade deal though!

Thanks for the quick response TerryJ. I just got my BlackBook, but if I didn't, I definitely would have taken this off your hands! You seem like a very professional and courteous seller! I wish you the best of luck on your sale! Whoever gets this MacBook, is getting an awesome machine!!

Thanks for the kind words JaNeDoE! Since no one in here has made a move yet, I'm already having second thoughts about selling it. I have had so many notebooks over the years and to land on one that has absolutely no negative issues - plus the upgraded drive and memory - combined with everything else it offers, makes it almost the perfect machine. If no one gets serious within the next couple of days I'll probably just withdraw the sale and keep it for myself. The only real reason I was selling was for a bigger screen for cleint presentations anyway, and I would just get by with the 13.3" screen if need be.

Thanks again!

Ok, here's an alternative... slight configuration change.

Same machine with the original 512MB of memory. Still includes all the original accessories, packaging, etc PLUS the 120 GB WD hard drive for only $1,300 shipped. Surely someone is looking for a great deal on a machine with thse specs...

I can't believe nobody is jumping on this!! TerryJ, I'm agreeing with your logic to keep it! I wouldn't go any lower on the price! You have an awesome machine there, take advantage of it!!

Hi JaNeDoe,

Yeah, I am pretty surprised myself. Seems everyone talks about wanting a machine and a good deal, but when one swims right up to them nothing happens. Anyway, if somebody is seriously interested let me know, but at this point I'm happy - and I mean VERY HAPPY - with this beauty and the only reason for selling was not needing two portables but I'm not giving it away. It's a fantastic computer and an issue-free MacBook to boot, so I think I'm better of just hanging onto this guy for myself! Why risk letting a great one go anyway?

Thanks for keeping up JD and I hope you are loving your MB too!

Well, I don't know if you are questioning my professionalism with that comment, but there has been considerable discussion over the real-world necessity of memory configuration in these machines. What you are trying to refer to is called "matched pairs". And, as most professionals already do know, a MacBook Pro (hence the 'Pro') is designed for professional needs where the standard MacBook (notice there is no 'Pro' here) is more in line with consumer machines. Further, I work with a large number of these exact machines daily and I have seen no real, hardline difference in matched or unmatched pairs of memory. Even the benchmarking experts at Barefeats, XBench, etc. have found very little performance difference - enough to detect by stopwatch but again, we're talking real-world performance here.

And, back to the price. I'm offering this cheap enough for someone that would seriously be bothered to have plenty money left over to swap in another 1GB module and have plenty change left.

Ok, how about this. If anyone is seriously looking for a great MacBook for just as good of a price, then you will not let this slide by. I decided to go ahead and biu another machine today so I am really making th effort here.

Once again, slightly different configuration.

MacBook - white - 2.0 CoreDuo - 512MB memory - UPGRADED 120GB WD Scorpio hard drive - All original accessories, box, etc - Excellent, like new condition. Absolutely excellent MacBook that you will not be disappointed in. I am owner of a reputable Apple consulting company in central Florida and thus very particular about all our Macs, especially my personal equipment. Feel welcome to contact me with any questions or is you'd like to discuss. We do have a PayPal merchant account so that methos is acceptable however the buyer will need to add the fees to the final price as we are paying for shipping.

Also, I forgot to add that I also have the original 60GB drive which will be included. You can install this in an external enclosure and have a nice small, portable external drive to give you a total of 180GB storage! Not bad, huh?

Price dropped once more to $1,275 shipped.

PM just sent to you, RiDDLeRIZE.

I know, stwain2003. I am pretty amazed myself that someone hasn't taken it in one of configurations that I've offered. I think the price is pretty darn good and it is truly in excellent shape. Oh well, someone is going to get a heck of a deal when they finally step up.

Thanks for your comment!

Hi RiDDLeRIZE,

So far, it is still available but to be fair, it should go to the first person with the money. I am listing it locally this weekend. It was purchased in mid March. I'm glad that you were aboe to see the pics... yes, it is in excellent condition as the pics tell.

Let me know when you're ready and if it's not gone by then, we'll put this together!

Hey there, I'm real interested but do you mean a 60GB? I believe that's what comes standard with the 2.0 macbook-- and it's what you were offering in addition to the 120GB hd. Let me know-- the price is in my budget but I'm still turning over in my head which macbook I should get and how I should get it. I'll pm you soon.

Hi boomerdang,

No, you read correctly. We have a BlackBook in the office that also had the drive upgraded to a 120GB so the stock 80GB that came in it originally can be included with this white MacBook that is being offered.

So the breakdown is such...

120GB drive/512MB RAM - $1,275 shipped
80GB drive/512MB RAM - $1,200 shipped

Thank you,

Ok, this is it... the final, absolute end to this offer. $1,185 shipped. I appreciate all the emails and contacts, but no one seems to follow thru on their promises to buy. I don't think you're going to find a match to this anywhere so if you do, you know it's a steal. I just don't need this machine sitting here in the office not being used so if somebody is serious about wanting a MacBook with an 80GB drive in like new condition for way below list price, then here's your chance.

hey, just out of curiousity.. have you considered taking it to eBay? you're sure to get a buyer there and probably for more than you're asking here.

oh, and i'll still take that 120 off your hands if you'll let me..
