How do I change the sound volume of my modem after running the Apple modem updater? Changing the system volume doesn't work, I still get the deafening noise which wasn't that loud before I ran the updater. I don't think an AT command will help, since I connect via Remote Access, or would I have to open up the modem string in the system folder?

Also, up until a few days ago, I was having great connection speeds with no problems via Earthlink. Now, (before and after running the updater) I get dropped after about 5-10 minutes using the v.90 script for my modem. If I connect using the v.34 only script I don't get dropped, but my transfer rate sucks. Anyone know of a better script or a way to change this? Details would be appriciated.
