I'd like to match the capabilities of my 7500 which can input and output to a VCR. Also had separate inputs and outputs for audio (allowing feeding or receiving a signal from the stereo).

Sony sells a device that plugs into the FireWire port that has stereo RCA jacks and a bunch of other connectors for audio and video. I can't remember what it's called off hand, but I'm planning to get it myself.

Your other option is to get a digital video camera. Those typically have firewire ports on them which you can connect directly to the computer.

There are also dozens of video capture PCI cards available.
