I seem to be receiving multiple emails in Mail. The incoming mail is addressed to my (username at mac.com) account.
I'm assuming that I'm getting .me mail also. Is this a Mail configuration problem, and how can I fix this? Thanks for any help.

Your .mac account changed to .me when MobileMe was announced. They are one and the same. You can use either address successfully (until and unless they pull the plug on .mac addresses in the future). If you are getting duplicate emails, check to see if the sender is sending to each address. That should be the only way you would get duplicates.

I checked the addresses. They are both addressed to (username at mac.com). A .me name never shows up.

Do you have .Mac and a .me account set up in Mail's preferences or one of those only?

There is a mac account and it says MobileMe IMAP under it. The email addresses within the account have both mac and me with my username.
There is also a Me account with Exchange (Inactive) under it. That just has the me e-addy in it.

Ok can you try this! Go to >Mail>Pref's>Composing & click to see what is said in
"Send New Mail From" drop-down menu. You should get a selection of your Aliases & also at top your .mac & .me address, hope this helps.

Select the account you want.

I wouldn't think that the Composing tab would have anything to do with receiving duplicate emails from my 'mac' and 'me' accounts. The Send New Mail From drop down is set to my mac account though.

Sounds like you have the two mail accounts both retrieving your mail. What happens if you delete one of them? Either the MobileMe or the Exchange (I'd probably delete the Exchange, but you decide). If deleting one of them works, then you will know that both accounts were retrieving the same mail.

I turned off the me 'Exchange' account. I'm nt getting dupes, but will that cause any problems with syncing or whatever?
