Within the past few weeks, I have noticed that every time I send an iMessage to a person, the message will fail to send one or two times. After the second or third time, it will send successfully. Usually, once I send a single message successfully, I can continue to send messages to that person successfully on the first attempt until I take a break from the conversation at which point, the failed message problem begins again. Has anyone seen this issue before and if so, are there any fixes I can try?

That sounds like the iMessage bug in iOS 7, assuming you have upgraded. It is supposedly fixed in iOS 7.0.3.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

I think the bug affects recipients as well, so if whoever you were sending to is on iOS 7, that might be the reason.

I know for a fact that at least half of the recipients are not on iOS 7.

It is worse than that on my iPhone 4s (7.0.2) and 10.8.5 iMac. Some messages are sent, some are not. Some are time stamped wrong. Messages is really broken.
