The worst state - in what way?
I rank my legal resident state of NY the absolute worst.
Before I read this http://patriotroom.com/article/what-...eedom-ranking- I knew it was bad.
It's a living sewer of rules, regulations, fees, taxes - particularly in NYC. And did I mention it's quite filthy? Still love it though.
A lot of time is spent in southern California (LA) and the Miami, FL area as well. California seems a little screwy too - nearly equal to NY, but at least the weather is nicer. People move too slowly, though.
I've actually grown to love Miami - the heat and humidity takes getting used to, but it is very nice. Food, booze and smokes are cheap, +there's a very international feel about the place, and the beaches are beautiful. The coconut palms (see my sig) are enticing. Sure you get the occasional hurricane, but, whatever. It's the tropics, those things happen.

Clearly you've never driven on 680/280. You could be going 90 and still have people tailgating and trying to pass on your right.

Was that you?
LOL I meant people and the way they do things physically - as in food service, valets, delivery, etc... very slow.

I would have to say Alabama. It's the only state that I tried not to breathe in. And yes, I've been on the Jersey Turnpike.

You weren’t there very long, then, I hope.

I chose Mass too.
The place has to be bad when you consider the majority of the residents spend their free time in all of the neighboring states (especially mine).
Case and point: during the summer take a drive on I-89, and I promise you there will be 5 Mass cars to every 1 NH/VT car on at the same time (This is a conservative estimate BTW!).

What, me worry?
