When using Outlook 2011, and it connects to my work server(IMAP) I get the above message in the lower left hand corner of my screen. I've tried an online search, however, I'm wondering if anyone here has a fix for this.
It seems some servers will only allow mail folders to store messages or other folders but not both at once. That can cause that particular error and can happen if you have messages in your trash or deleted items folder and then you delete a folder as well.
