I quit smoking cigs 3 years ago.
The only time I will smoke pot is if I am having stomach problems. And even then I don't smoke enough to get high.

There are other things that people can smoke... Generally I only smoke cigars and maybe the occassional cigarillo. If I'm in China (or some other place where people incessantly offer you cigarettes and it could potentially be considered rude to turnt hem down) I'll smoke a cigarette if it's offered to me, but not otherwise.

As of this post and according to your poll 75% of those 8 who responded smoke something. Would be pretty interesting if this 3:1 ratio kept up.
Only reason i didn't vote was because i'm hestiant to check off the box thats says " I like fags " ..... eh....

I've never smoked, except for my 2 years of living in LA and breathing ozone.

Of course, some of us only smoke to lower our anger levels so we don't feel inclined to kill people who make crap jokes.

I did not vote as I smoke a pipe. I have six pipes but my favorites are made here in the States at Boswell Pipes. I smoke a wide variety of tobacco--mostly blends with Virginia, Burley, the occasional Latakia, the occasional English Cavendish as well. My favorite everyday tobacco, that is not a custom blend, is Amphora Red. It is a surprisingly good smoke although it has not been available for sale in the States in quite a few years. I have a work coleague who picks up some for me on trips to Canada but she hasn't taken any lately and I am almost out. If anyone in the Great White North wants to help me keep my supply from running out contact me off-line.

Smoked from 13 to 17, with 2 boxes Benson & Hedges the last two years. I stopped smoking just to see if I could. I could, and it was one of the best things I ever did. Today I'm smoking a joint from time to time with friends. I hate the taste, though.

I quit smoking cigarettes late last year. However, over the holidays I did treat myself to a good cigar while sitting on the beach and watching the sun set. That was great.

I recently quit smoking herb on the 4th of January, and haven't smoked since. I was trying to quit on New Year's, but my friend was trying to quit on the 4th, so I thought it would be easier to quit alongside someone else, and I have broke my resolution once this year.
It's hard to not want to roll up a blunt! I miss smoking, but I am reluctant to break my resolution to myself again.

Coming back home for Thanksgiving last year, I found that ALL of my friends from high school smoke now. I'm the only one who doesn't, although I'm down with the OPP on occasion.

I've never smoked (except when I'm REALLY mad and it comes out of my ears) but I have other vices. Like eating chocolate, biting my nails, and watching too much television.

Used to be my mantra. Didn't work. Having said that even though I smoke a pack a day I can stop on a dime anytime because I don't have addictions, just curiosities.

So you're saying you're not in control of your emotions? You CAN control your emotions, without resorting to using cigarettes as an excuse.

The point ? How about "getting a buzz" ? Tobacco is a head rush and makes you feely goofy/kinda high when you first start. After you're addicted, THEN it becomes more of a situation of feeling goofy UNLESS you've had a cigarette.
You could just as easily ask what its the point of drinking. wasting money ? destroying your liver? looking cool ?
