Hi,
let me introduce you to a small project I've been working on lately.
Its name is "Xi-SoftCandy".
This theme is a soft and mildly colored theme. I
t may be no the most spectacular theme ever made but the goal was to
create something soft on the eyes, pleasant to use and most of all useable all day long.
It comes in three flavors. The guiKit contains a skin for safari and iChat.

Nice lookin' on the previews on your website. I can't wait to try it out. I love understated l'il themes like this. Thanks!
Note: From the name alone, I almost skipped this thread. I was thinkin' "fruity flavors" or somethin'.

Nice hue, like a cooler version of
Priority Web's Champagne theme.
Not so keen on the pastel hue for (x+-)
widgets or the soft candy finder widgets effect
on de-press, and have never been a fan of
stripes in pull-down menus. Caramel is IMHO
the smarter variant the others are unlivable
with, But this is an interestingly gentle theme,
so well done :)
Those who may stick with this theme,
might like to try this near-matching icon set -

That Champagne theme has always made me sick. Especially the awful Apple menu button. And a more appropriate iconset that is current would probably be the Matrix set from Iconfactory -- because this theme's off-hue remind me of the same hue everything is inside the matrix.
Oh. And the lime and orange variants...
WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!

Yeah, I love the caramel variant, however my concern with the other two is the color of the apple menu. IMHO, I would make it the same color as the rest, but that is just me.
Otherwise, nice!

FINALLY! A *USABLE* theme!
Looks top-notch (well, the caramel variation, anyway the other two are just a bit too much for me coloristically)!
Could you make same saturation, same lightness blue hued variant too? Prettttty pleaaaase?

Thanks guys, I'm glad that most of you like it..
About the color variants, my favorite is also caramel.
I did the other ones mainly because I thought that people
could get bored of using only one. I thought also of doing a blue one but
that will be for a future updat..
Thanks Patrick for your comments and for making me realize that my
logging name initials are PC
About the desktops, I'll do them later.. to much stuff to do right now with
my job and my other themes..
Anyway, thanks for the comments..

Very professional-looking, aesthetically pleasing (esp. carmel, but I like the green one as well), and in fact is just about one of the finest themes I've seen. Thanks, PC! This one goes on my (very short list) of favorites.

A nice looking theme. Like you said, nothing spectacular, but it is certainly easy on the eyes. Well, the caramel is...

Okay-really like this theme a lot and am sort of amazed (and grateful) that unlike the majority am really digging the green variant. What I'd really like is the desktops that are shown in the previews on your site and apologies if I'm missing something on where the heck they are...Help?

Great Theme! I really like the Green var. The Matrix Rebooted icons go really well with it, imho. Thanks for making such cool themes, I like everything you've done, I'm using Xi-Tibook2 at work and it's easy on my eyes, not to mention it makes the 2 PC's in my office look way tired!
Well Done!

Awesome work Patrice! In your screenshot posted on your site, you have small icons next to your Safari bookmarks in the bookmarks bar. How was that acomplished? Are you editing the Safari resources or is it something 3rd party?

Thanks guys
About the desktop used in the preview, it was done by James Meister
(Mac guru) and was part of the QNX theme kit done by MAX and James

thanks DJ,
to add the small icons in front of my bookmarks, I simply insert the miscellaneous
characters found in the character palette.

Brother, that's one nice theme. I'm using it right now. Though I would never normally be attracted to this type of color, it really is subtle and attractive. Thank you!

I finally got around to loading theme up, and it is *very* nice! Great work. I dig the larger apple icon in the menu bar. I like the soft edges and lighting. I don't know if I would use the green or peach variants... but I'd be interested in seeing what other color schemes you have up your sleeve. As many have stated, caramel is *very* nice.
I'm using it with the QNX backdrop as well, seems like this theme would work well with the BlueCurve icon set that came with that package too.
One edit I would like to see is the a little less transparency on the menus.. not a big deal.
Great work, cheers!

Hey thanks,
About color variants, somebody just did a blue one, quite nice actually.
If somebody wants to make other colors go ahead!
I'll include the new variants in a future update.

I'm using caramel right now . The lighting is so soft yet sharp at the same time. Makes it easy to use all day long. Quite easy on the eyes. I'm not being sarcastic.
Super beau theme..merci

How about a more masculine version for us beefcakes,
who are either scared or put off by 'nancy' girly colors
as a replacement for apples traffic lights ( X - + ) widgets...
( no screen shot review I have yet seen has included a
pic of the girly lights. )
http://www.resexcellence.com/themes/...Candy10_lg.jpg
http://homepage.mac.com/plassus/.Pic...ps/Caramel.jpg
or on the Macthemes or Macupdate sites.
Not a whiff of primary colors in any of these pics...
Please release an alternative version - it just looks
so incongruous with the rest of your excellent theme ;)

Ok catsank/benign, what "manly" color would you like exactly?

Yeah, I was going to suggest something of the sort. You will notice how caramel has the traffic x-+ widgets, where the lime and peach don't. I would prefer the caramel x-+ widgets to be caramel...

Whatever your 'manly' judicious design sense tells
you, as long as it's not girly - something subtle
like the rest of your elegant, understated theme.

How about a nice "Chocolate" version, using that sweet dark brown color you used for the Apple menu and selected menu items?
I whipped that up in 5 minutes in Photoshop so the colors are a bit off, it should be a darker shade of brown, but you get the picture...

Great looking theme but the menus are way to transparent to be usable. I prefer full opaque menus. I like the theme but thats whats stopping me from using it. Time to mod it

Yeah. I got quite q a few mails about the menu being too transparent..
I'll change that on the next update
FB eye: You don't want to make elements too dark because of the colors text issues
