I just installed the newest security update and when I restarted the computer it chimed, went to the grey screen, the Apple icon and the spinning bars came up then the computer had a kernel panic. I restarted it again and the same thing happened. The processor and RAM units are all snug in their slots and the computer was not having this problem prior to the update. I do not have a spare copy of Tiger around so I am hoping but are there any ideas or suggestions? Thanks very much for your time.

You could try safe boot by holding shift. Or single user by holding apple-s. Then run fsck.

Thanks for the tip. I let it start up this morning and it had another kernel panic and I left it for a minute and it went away and started up normally. Strange but it appears to be working.
