This pretty much explains everything that I observe around me:
Yin-Yang
all misery and joy explained within it.
"" This Simbol(Yin-Yang) represents the ancient Chinese understanding of how things work. The outer circle represents "everything", while the black and white shapes within the circle represent the interaction of two energies, called "yin" (black) and "yang" (white), which cause everything to happen. They are not completely black or white, just as things in life are not completely black or white, and they cannot exist without each other.
While "yin" would be dark, passive, downward, cold, contracting, and weak, "yang" would be bright, active, upward, hot, expanding, and strong. The shape of the yin and yang sections of the symbol, actually gives you a sense of the continual movement of these two energies, yin to yang and yang to yin, causing everything to happen: just as things expand and contract, and temperature changes from hot to cold.""

Do unto others as you would have them do to you.
There is a way that seems right to man, but in the end it leads to destruction.
Therefore: I need to trust a higher being to help me with my decision making abilities.

So you don't trust your own rational self, but you trust a hypocritical god who came from nowhere, created imperfect beings, then punished them for not being perfect, and continues to punish their offspring to this very day?
Huh.

Buddha told a parable in a sutra:
A man traveling across a field encountered a tiger. He fled, the tiger after him. Coming to a precipice, he caught hold of the root of a wild vine and swung himself down over the edge. The tiger sniffed at him from above. Trembling, the man looked down to where, far below, another tiger was waiting to eat him. Only the vine sustained him.
Two mice, one white and one black started to gnaw away at the vine. The man saw a lucious strawberry near him. Grasping the vine with one hand, he plucked the strawberry with the other. Ahh, how sweet it tasted!

What you guys are posting can't be called a "philosophy" in the true sense of the word. It more describes perhaps your MOTTO in life. Calling your silly one line ideals a "philosophy" is a real disgrace to the real sense of the word, not to mention a lame display of pseudo intellectualism.

I would personally think that the "true sense of the word" is the way it is most commonly used in modern speech. "A system of values by which one lives," is certainly a commonly used definition, so I think that it is acceptable to say that this thread is about people's philosophies.
I have to agree with OreoCookie: question authority.
