Hi!

I am using Jaguar 10.2.1 and have applied
the adobe's update on Photoshop 7.
I noticed some annoying bugs sometimes, well,
most of the time. I don't know if it was the update
that cracked Photoshop in some way, because after
installing Jaguar and Photoshop 7 I have went
directly through the adobe update, not using the
first installed version.

The SHIFT and COMMAND buttons stopped to work
correctly. The SPACE bar (that calls the HAND TOOL) stopped to work too. After selecting PAINT BUCKET TOOL, the COMMAND BUTTON works as EYEDROPPER, but on this case, does not
do it anymore! The SHIFT for every tool inside photoshop also!

I got the same problem on Internet Explorer (noticed this while I was writing this message). When pressing SHIFT and KEYBOARD ARROWS to select some words, letters or lines it does not work. Strange because in TEXT EDIT it is working fine.

Closing Photoshop or IE do not solve my problem.
The only solution is rebooting the system.
Anybody has got this kind of bug before?

Thanks people for your attention!
Akira.

have you repaired permissions?
that seems to help the illustrator 10.0.3 shift-key problem

I've had the shift- spacebar bug in Photoshop intermittently as well. It's pretty widespread. For me, a log out/in usually fixes it, which is faster than rebooting.

Adobe will probably release a fix just in time for Apple to break it again with an OS update.

I have the exact same problem...and the same solution has worked for me...

But it's not just Adobe. The same bug shows up in Fireworks, so apparently it's a Window Manager bug (or something).

Hmmm...
Thanks people. it is good (or bad) to know that someone
else has noticed the same bug as me.
I found it on Photoshop and Internet Explorer text field areas and
I believe also that is an OS X window management error.

Well...
Let's wait for more discoveries!

Happened again!

I lost the SHIFT and COMMAND functions inside Photoshop and
now inside INDESIGN 2.0, where the COMMAND + Z (Undo)
strangely disappeared!!! Even from the file menu, the option
undo is not highlighted!

Damn'it!

Whoa! New discovery!

When I make a COMMAND + C (copy) of a image
inside PHOTOSHOP and a COMMAND + V (paste)
inside INDESIGN my SHIFT stops to work, and my
UNDO function (under kayboard or file menu) vanishes
also!

Bugs bugs bugs are eating my brain!

Akira.

I was never able to use the Photoshop 7.0.1 update because the installer would always give me an error. Supposedly this is because I have OS 9 on a different partition... Has anyone with this configuration successfully updated to7.0.1? If so, how?

Sorry wataru but I have os9 on a different partition and the update worked flawlessly.
But I had one strange problem when I had my iMac with photoshop 7.I tried to install photoshop on X and close to the end it quit with an error. What I had to do was to install it on my separate os9 partition and then when I tried to install it on my x partition it installed with no problem!!!
Now that I have bought a powerbook it installed on X with no problems at all..... I don't know what was the reason for the strange behaviour on the iMac side. (I'm so glad I sold my iMac. iMacs had a lot of problems. Firewire problems, problematic screens etc)
