Hey all,
I just ordered a macbook with these specs:
> 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
> 2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM-2x1GB
> 80GB Serial ATA @ 5400 rpm
> Superdrive 6x
> No Modem
> No Optional Software
> Keyboard/Mac OS
I just wondered if anyone can give me any good pointers. I've used a mac before and tiger osx.
Also do new macs come with a optical mouse or do i need to buy that seperate?
Thanks
Joe

If I were you, I will change the order before it is too late,
You should order the biggest hd possible and get the extra memory outside later on.
just my opinion
Laptop does not come with optical mouse, a new logitech will be much better choice anyway.
good luck and have fun.

Yep - agree with PCGuy - get the largest HD, and fit your own memory.

I'll echo the comments about not buying memory from Apple (Crucial has the 2x1GB upgrade kit for $133), but I'd stick with the stock hard drive (which is easy to upgrade and doesn't void your warranty). This way you can buy from a different vendor, like Amazon, and save a couple hundred dollars there.

MacBooks are easily upgradable. Apple tends to overcharge on additions (RAM, hard drives...). A stock system is also much easier to exchange/return. I'd suggest getting a standard config, then upgrading on an as-needed basis.
