The track pad pointer is stuck in the upper left hand corner of my 17" Powerbook.

Any suggestions of how I might fix it?

Have you restarted your machine?
Has your battery swollen and is now putting pressure on your trackpad?
Does a USB mouse work?

There's nothing you can do. I'll give you $50 for your completely unfixable Powerbook.

I've restarted the machine. The USB mouse works perfectely. The battery does not seem to be swollen.

Then it looks like you have a failed trackpad, which means a new topcase.

What do you think something like that would cost? Is it worth getting fixed?

Thanks . . .

You're looking at $200-$250 for the part, and probably an hour of labor. I would estimate $300-$350...

A bluetooth mouse would be a lot cheaper.
