I've noticed that sometimes after opening junk email (or maybe any email, I can't remember) my CD will spin up. It also spins up at other odd times. What causes the OS to spin the CD up when there is no app open that should want to access it?

I usually just take the CD out but was curious. Thanks.

Just one of the MacOS's little quirks... there is a reason, can't remember what. Prob just searching for stuff...
Can get annoying I know, as it waits for te CD to spin up before carrying out its next intruction. Don't worry, its perfectly normal.
