http://rt.com/usa/263473-nyc-subway-...ading-arrests/

"Two Latino men were allegedly arrested for manspreading, sitting with knees wide open, thus occupying two seats on May 22 at 12:11am, according to a report released by the Police Reform Organizing Project in New York. This is probably the first time manspreading has led to an arrest and court appearance.

Although, according to the report, the judge said that at the time of the arrest there could not have been many passengers on the train, she nevertheless slapped the two men with an ACD, which means that charges against them will be dropped if they don't get arrested again for a fixed period of time, the report says."

F*** NYC, I was right to blacklist that sh**hole, and it'll be a cold day in hell before they get another cent of my tourism money.

On one hand, this is stupid.

On the other, I'd be so happy if they ticketed you for standing in the doorway when there's room in the center of the car. This drives me ****ing insane.

As ridiculously stupid this story is, the term "manspreading" is equally hilarious.

This strikes me as a way for police to hassle people they don't like.

I don't understand why this isn't just a fine. It's like getting arrested for double-parking.

I'm betting there's a hole lot left out about what happened. They probably pissed off the cop.

That still counts as exploiting the law.

This is so ****ing stupid. I ride the subway every day, imo the pigs should arrest the dangerous nutjobs wandering the system instead of this silliness.

I remember riding the subway to a Red Sox / Yankees game and being terrified the entire ride. That might have had a little to do with the guy with a Red Sox hat nearly getting thrown off, but nothing about the experience was enjoyable.

To be clear: the guy with the Sox hat wasn't me. I was ordered to leave mine in the hotel room by some friends. Good call.
