My first impression is you can't make the icon with transparency and have it made for OS 9 as well. Change the export to OS X. Are you pasting an image into iconbuilder or a photoshop layer. Sometimes pasting a PSD file that has layer styles applied to it will cause anomalies. Try exporting as a PNG file in photoshop first and then bring it into iconbuilder.

iconbuilder is a great tool but for something a bit more simple, I suggest you try out Export Icon its $20, I'm thinking of getting my mum to buy it for me Its really easy and handy.

I think exporting to icons should be built into photoshop from the start.... either format, XP and OS X

this is a PNG actually, and there's no specific option to create an X icon, it's os x AND os 9, not just os x. but i pasted the png into a new psd and the same thing happens...

save the icon as an icns file, there is no finder preview but they open in preview as icons. Good for use with candybar

I have that problem too. I tried everything, and it still has those lines through them.

Just get Iconographer.

IconBuilder reduce your productivity time.

Formatting the document, Open IconBuilder, Move the layout to fit the box, Build Icon/Mask, etc etc.

In Iconographer, you just copy/paste then save.

mac15: ********

Steve: I might try that, but how do I get the other resources? Alot of times, icons look better without the 16, so I hope it doesn't automatically do it.

70 bucks is rediculously expensive for an icon creation filter. It works very well, but I would never imagine paying 70 bucks for it. That's my cell phone bill plus lunch for 3 days. That's gas for a month. That's several other pieces of shareware. (Like you could buy just about every piece of Unsanity shareware with 70 bucks!) I mean if it were 25 bucks I would buy it in a heartbeat. 25 is reasonable. And in the long run I think the Iconfactory woul dmake MORE by having a smaller price as more people would buy it. 70 bucks is just way too much. I'm all for reasonable pricing on shareware but this is just unreasonably high. I mean, why not have a version that JUST does Mac icons for half the price? And one that just does Windows for that same price? And if you want the full deal, then pay the high price - if they are so dead set on 70 bucks.
