Are you asking about the PowerMac G5 codename or the codename for the G5 itself?

tanhauser is right, the G5 was codenamed "Neo".

I believe that the PowerMac G5 was codenamed "Q37" according to Think Secret.

I'm betting it was referred too inside Apple as: The Satisfier. As in "This better satisfy those rabid 'fans'"

Windtunnel is not an official Apple name, it got that from clever wags on fora like these. The official names are MDD (Mirrored Drive Doors) for the 867/1000/1250 line and FW800 for the 1000/1250/1420 line. Link.

Haven't you noticed? Chronic cynicism takes no skills, little energy, no education, and if you do it really well in poorly-lit coffee-houses, it gets you laid.

according to a friend of mine it's codename is "Kick Ass" but you won't see it called that on apple's site lol
In a realm beyond site, the sky shines gold, not blue, there the Triforce's might makes mortal dreams come true.

The next person who refers to it as a cheese grater deserves their face cheese grated.
