Ok, 3's a lot of pictures, but hey, everyone's saying "for the archives," so hopefully you'll permit the set. Of course much more detail is in the link.

Can you post those wallpapers ?

Thanks

Yup, it is from Microsoft. They are nice though. You can allow them to rotate through all the seasons, pretty cool.

Nice for me to have in The Valley, since it looks either moist or dry with 2 main seasons.

You too need to give me some credit too because I probably am the very first one in the entire internet world who started this topic

The original one in AppleInsider was around 21 pages. Lets see if this thread can beat it or not....

New rule for the thread. You can't have a PC in an image unless you talk sh*t about it or place it in a way where it appears "below" the Mac

LOL!

P.S. I think the PC pictures should also be allowed if they show a PC that's being rolled over by a steam roller as seen in this nice little Apple ad

lol, i thought i explained why i had to place my Mac there? I don't have room to put it anywhere else and still connect it to my stereo. The printer wont fit under the stand either, only my mac.

And yes, i will talk S*** about the pc. I just built it yesterday and it took me about a day and a half just to get the TV tuner drivers installed. Windows kept restarting during the install prossess.

And you will notice that i have the pc using just a logitech MX 300 and my mac using the MX700 and the powermate, and the kyspan remote, and the ipod, and the printer.

Hehe, awesome.

Yes, you did explain it. I was just noting what I did for others. Under the rule you would have needed that description. See, now we think so much more highly of you than we did.

I need a better desk for my machine. It's a small cheap thing I got so I can put check the internet from my room. Besides, if I took a picture, you'd probably play the Mac version of "Where's Waldo", to find my mac in the picture...Actually that's not a bad name for my custom mac that put together...Only two things have the apple logo on it: the keyboard and pack of DVD-Rs I bought on it.

Oh well, I'm saving up for a slamming powerbook anyway...don't care what it looks like as long as I can get to my iTunes, iChat, Mail and Safari...

TheMosco:
That's a Chieftec case, isn't it? Am I guessing right that it's the CS2001? Why didn't you take the 601, seems as if it'd still be big enough but you could probably fit it under your table.

lol sch. He should have gotten a cheap aluminum case methinks.. some aren't THAT bad (though some really are..)

I dunno. at least it isn't a TT Xazer. Those are AWWWFUL. I never really was crazy about the antecs (and antec-ripoffs such as the cheftec), they're so.... overused.

It's like every time someone says "Hey look I built a PC!" I see a black antec case :|

or a lookalike. .. they must account for 65% of the custom PC population lol

Actually, Chieftec and chenming cases are not Antec rip-offs, who do you think makes them for Antec?

The Case looks alot bigger in the picture because of the angle. Its really not that big. Its not even the server case. One of you thought it was a CS2001 but its not. It is the 601, the CS2001 is huge. So i did get the smaller one, and it still doesn't fit. The only other case i liked was the Antec sonata but i didn't see it without a power supply. That case looks nothing like these. I need the space because i plan on adding a DVD burner and another hard drive.

lol, you guys might actually force me to move the machine.

Dude, who gives a f*** about your Mac when there's a Porsche?
I spent like two minutes looking at your Apple pics and like 20 staring at that beautiful car.

It's been a while since I updated my pic.

Dual 867 MDD
2GB DDR
2 60 GB hard drives
CDRW/DVD Combo and second optical drive
ATI Radeon 9000 64MB

iBook 600
8MB Rage
640MB Ram
CDRW/DVD Combo
20 GB hard drive
I got a good deal on the ibook as one of my friends spilled coke in the keyboard. He was leaving for an out of state job and needed some cash. The ibook sat in his closet for months. Not knowing what was wrong with it (he said the screen wouldn't light up and the powercord came apart) I took a chance and offered him $200 for it. Another $200 (backlight inverter) and some soldering on my part (powercord), and I had a nice laptop...not too shabby

P4 2.4GHz overclocked to 2.6GHz
1GB DDR
ATI Radeon 9000 128Mb
Toshiba DVD and Plextor 48x CDRW
250MB Zip
I upgraded an old Gateway case I swipped from work. Working in the IT field does have some perks, albeit few and far between.

Dual Sony Displays (G420 19" and G520 21") drive both the MDD and the PC. Both monitors have dual inputs so I don't even need a switchbox.

Altec Lansing ATP 3 speaks
HP P1000 Printer
HP Scanjet 5400C Scanner (OS X driver, finally)

Sorry for the huge pic, probably should have resized it.

Ok, so you want to keep it going....inspiration for this post comes from the Mac/PC discussion for those with both as above:

Ok, I had to get a PC for my DirecWay Satellite Internet Gateway (more pics on this later). The PC is literally behind the desk that I just had to get, but, look at the following link to see how I'm presenting the desktop pic for the machine relative to the Mac (big so it's linked).

The monitor on the left is showing it's analog connection while the one on the right is the digital connection (G4 has both digital connections and the PC has the left monitor's analog connection and my Telecom server (PowerBook G3 is on the right one's analog connection):

I get this terrible feeling when I look at this thread that many of you are status grabbers , I mean whats all this about ?
Drool technonology drooling with dollars but very little in the way of drool basics that last comparison was looking as if the rich kid only barely knew how to hold a camera.
Wheres the currency of individual abilities at the very least meeting the specs of the tech, I mean why do you guys need the fastest and the best for.?
I was hoping for some really shiny and clever renditions at least meeting the accomplishments of the tech specs that you guys own. Its all rather appalling your all just pissing in the wind and I'm probably not much better, I say this because I've just learnt that my links that I posted somewhere near the begining of this thread are no longer working, but I am working on getting them back. Just make me feel proud of owning a Mac and belonging to this exclusivity again, will ya ?

I posted this in the lounge before and I'm unsure whether I listed a pic here before, if not it's about time I did.

a friend's G4 400 AGP on the left with an iMac keyboard sourced from a GARBAGE CAN..

my G4 533 Digi Audio on the right - 80 gig WD 8MB cache drive, 40 gig WD, both 7200 rpm, 32MB Geforce 2MX, 512 MB ram, 48x Lite-On burner

10 gig iPod, Griffin Powermate, Soundsticks, firewire iBot, etc, etc...

and yes - I compute on the floor.

Sweetness. Something about the way the color of silver is emphasized in your settup gets you high marks. Still...quite computing on the floor

My old macs. I still have the TAM and the 'Manta' studio display.

Bit o' trivia: The Manta display is the first translucent plastic hardware item that Apple released. It predated the iMac by a year.

Here's my contribution for the week:

The Machines

The Desk

Who said PCs can't be beautiful too?
