I'm relatively poor so I'd go for any nice 1999 Montepulciano D'Abruzzo.

heh heh! Yes, there have been a few good whines released recently!

The last time I recommended a California wine, a friend of mine explained that California wines are to French wines what masturbation is to sex. (Since I haven't had any French wine lately I guess I can't comment ).

In any event, an absolute favorite of mine is the Cakebread Merlot. It is reasonably to moderately priced but EXTREMELY difficult to get due to limited production. - However, if anyone has a hook up count me in. Another one of my favorite "daily reds" is Corvo (Sicilian Table Wine) at about $8-12 a bottle. As to my absolute favorite . . . sorry that's top secret

I've never thought of pairing a computer with a wine. That's even trickier than pairing food with wine.

Hmm... maybe someone should taste their Ti and tell me what flavors are in it. Just make sure it's grounded first.

I would recommend a 1999 Quantum ProDrive LPS. A most excellent whine.

hmm, what's the qualities of the Ti... light, crisp (design), light color, but big price, and classy....

i'd say 2 whites would really compliment the Ti...

a nice Muscadet du Sevre et du Maine... sur lie, si c'est possible...

or, my personal favorite,

a nice Sancerre blanc. Flinty, crisp, and delicious...

Best Whine: It cost too much
It gets too hot
It scratches too easy
The firewire bus is too slow
It flexes
It's too heavy

A glass or two of a good red wine have a calming effect on many people. A decreased level of tension is needed when involved in some of these forums.

Try a Fetzer cab, about $7
a Sterling for maybe $15
or an Opus for,

well you get the idea..

Id recommend a 1997 St Henri Shiraz by Penfolds.

Its a great Australian drop. Would retail at around $30 US I suppose, naybe a little more.

Wine & Macs are great combos. I often kick back on my lounge chair in my living room and browse the net on my ibook (via airport of course), whilst sipping on a good red.

Nothing like it. Nothing legal like it anyway

Great post. I was pleased to see it.

And by the way, if you havent tried Australian wines yet - get out there and try some. We have some of the best wines in the world. Our reputation is equal to the French now, particularly in the UK.

Look out for Penfolds, Yalumba, Brown Brothers & Rosemount, just to name a few very good, reasonably priced labels that you should be able to buy in the USA or wherever you are from.
MacBook Alu, 13", 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, 256MB video
G5 Imac, 17", 1.9Ghz, 1.5GB RAM, 128MB video, built in isight, airport and bluetooth
Indigo iBook, 366mhz; 320MB RAM; CD; FW; Airport

Do I use a rag or a sponge when using wine with the Powerbook to remove scratches? If I pour on too much wine can it remove the paint? Maybe paint thinner would work just as well.

Some one help. Using MD 20/20 wine has made circular streaks in my Powerbook. Who the DEVIL suggested using wine to remove scratches anyway?

The Darymple Pinot is a fine Tassie wine. IF you let it age awhile. Otherwise it will smack you silly. Just wish I could get it here!

Perhaps the Darymple Pinot is not available there, but you can do some interesting things with peyote.

When Fullers ESB or Draught Guiness, or Magic #9 are languishing in the refrig, and the pasta, garlic, basil and olive oil, and grated Locatelli romano are ruling the table, the reds come out and set up shop next to the "Apple-ation Controllee" iMac G3 400 with 320 MB proof of Ram. (Sorry, white wine doesn't stand much chance here, unless we have visitors)

For everyday I am especially fond of good bargain priced wine in the $8 -$13 range. 100 or so bottles a year and it adds up (...like there's a new iBook i'm saving for!). Despite my French heritage, both my mother who is French and I, are partial to Californian wine, Australian, New Zealand, and the occasional South African without reservation.

Here's a few if you haven't already collected enough recommendations to keep you soggy for months.

New Zealand's Hawkes Bay produces some nice cabernets, Corban's is the name of the winery
[i]Longridge{/I} Cabernet is one of them
Australian Rosemount Cabernet Sauvignon is a firm favorite
Australian Black Opal is very decent
Chilean Casa Lapostolle Riserva is very nice
Californian 96-97 Bogle was been exceptional but my guy ran out of it
David Bruce (I think) Pinot Noir from Oregon
Morgon is my all time favorite Burgundy from France
Santenay is not arf bad, again from France
French Chateuneuf du Pape is very delicious

Lots of trouble remembering the Cali wines but did enjoy a Nebbiolo and a Sangiovese from the Central Coast recently.

And recently with a plate of osso bucco, this outstanding Italian Barolo:
Ceretto Barolo Zonchera http://www.clicquot.com/wineries/win...ceretto&key=27

and for those who like to "think different" and try different,
I once had an interesting Lenz from Long Island, and a funky but tasty Long Island Pindar Mythology which I kept 3 years and enjoyed every drop. But not very often as these guys are in the $20-30 range

Here's one: "Why, oh why, didn't I just keep my Pismo !? I just wasted my money in a feeble attempt to look cool to my geek groupies."

Oh wait, that's a "whine" isn't it? Sorry.

arf.

american board dealing with wine..

anyway, i smile when i read this because you always put the price with the wine you choose.

in france we said "a Pic Saint Loup 1996", that's all. no matter of the price.

for me it will be a Mercurey 1998, Bourgogne stuff.

with the rev b of the next week ;-)

Ha ha, Not only are you an obnoxious a$$hole, you are also stupid:
(1) it was a joke {and funny too }; and
(2) if you had 1/2 a brain you would realize that the very first "good" wine that I mentioned [Cakebread] is "from California"!
