Sounds like Canada's west coast. Well, within the space 1 hour maybe. When I lived in North Vancouver, after work I used to go snowboarding. 30 minutes from my door to the local mountain's ski lift, including time to get dressed.
Go to a beautiful beach in the middle of summer - and be the only person there.
Hell, I've even done that in Hawaii. Mind you most places were full of obnoxious tourists if you stay in the tourist areas.
Anyways, one of the things I like in Toronto is being able to actually afford a house in downtown of this 4 million strong modern western city. I looked at Boston and San Francisco, and the prices there were literally about 3-4X as much.

OK! 45 minutes but I was close!
A wee fact for you: Australia has three times as many sheep as us. It's just that we're the only ones with velcro gloves.
New Zealand's biggest mistake is that they pulled out of joining the Commonwealth of Australia just before January 1901. And now the NZ government wants the two countries to 'join' together. Somehow I don't think that'll ever happen.
Bollocks. A similar currency was mentioned last year but was quickly dismissed as a bad idea.
oh, and australia is going down in the cricket world cup. In case anyone cares.

I can experience snowstorms, rain, gales, sunshine and fog within a period of 30 minutes - and frequently do.
Aaah, the wonders of Icelandic weather. And still we try to hang on up here
