For those who renewed their .Mac accounts, have you received your free Everquest DVD, The Sims, or Apple Store coupons yet in the mail?!?

Not yet. But I am in Australia. I have been told that it will take "4 to 6 weeks after US residents begin to receive them."

I got my coupon... but I can't think of anything to use it on. Anyone want it? Just send me a $20 gift certificate for iTunes and it's yours.

Come to think of it...

Is the coupon mailed to you via postal mail or email? Is it just a number I enter when buying something from Apple Online or would it work at any retailer?

Email. It's a code you enter at checkout, good at the online Apple Store, or over the phone.

I received my emailed coupon a couple weeks ago. I was going to use for panther, but I can't use it on top of an education discount.

I got my $30 coupon 2-3 weeks ago, used it to get an iSight for $190. Total after shipping and tax $230.

Ordered Wednesday 7:30PM, shipped Thursday 3:30PM arrived Friday 2:30PM. fast for econo service. and over the border. but my G4 took 6-7 days!!! at least I got Panther for $30.

It said it would take 3-6 days so I ordered it on Wed so it would be their this week for when I get Home Friday.

Got it and spent it on a DiskOnKey drive.

Now if I could just figure out what to do with my $100-off-$999 coupon....

Got Everquest. The bastard game wouldn't run unless I bought an extra month. So I bought the extra month and started playing and it's the most crappy game I've ever seen. POS graphics, POS controls, almost no human life, slow interface, plain shite.

EQ graphics are not "state of the art", but they're not "crappy" either. You have to remember that on the PC side, you have to cater to the lowest common denominator - the guy with the 400 MHz Pentium III with a 3dfx card. If you look at what EQ2, WoW, or FFXI has, you'd be amazed.

That said, since EQ is a port, you're stuck with what's on the PC side.

Yes, my wife received her cupon via E.Mail. We tried to use it online, but it wasn't accepted. So the manager at our local Apple Store is going to let her use it in the store.

not yet. been about 2-3 weeks since I got charged for renewal.

if it's coming UPS, they're probably just screwing me over again. They can't find a package my mom sent to me--it's US$1200 in Soviet-era naval stuff. One 18-lb. box. It's MIA for 12 days now.

What a f*cking joke. That game is so f*cking bad. Have you ever read the Galaxies message boards? FILLED with nothing but complaints. The game SUCKS. It's slow. The levelling is a joke. It's poorly designed. There's no content.

Look, you want to play it, be my guest, but I gotta tell you, as far as MMORPGs go, this one sucks donkey balls.

I could go on and on about it, but I want to laugh when you finally buy it and then tell me it sucks.

Damn, after all that hype and decent screenies. When I was playing that **** EQ, I kept thinking why didn't the make a Matrix RPG instead of that dumb beat em up? Then we could actually have a Matrix to explore.

I got the Kensington Ultra Mini Portable Mouse Thing for $30 with the $20 off coupon. It looks like a normal two-button gray mouse but it's got a secret power - depress the little metal Kensington logo on the side and the hatch opens and there's a spring-reeled (like automobile seat belts) thin USB cable. Oh, right, it doesn't look all the normal because when it's pakced up it looks like it's wireless.

I thought it would be smaller. I like the size, actually, but last year my rooommate hade a mouse about an inch and a half on a side to go with his UltraMini PC his Dad made. Mmmm, mousetastic.

I tried using mine on a $30 iTunes gift certificate. I guess it didn't work because my card was charged $30 instead of $10. Hmm... I gonna have to call Apple first thing tomorrow morning to get this cleared up.

Just got the sims yesterday, finally! wooot

A friend of mine had it on his pc years ago and I was intrigued, but never really cared to put down $50 on a three-year-old game. I'm quite happy to see how well it runs on my old pismo, albeit G4 upgraded.

I'm pretty sure the fine print says that you can't use the coupon on a gift certificate, that's pretty standard practice.

I got my copy of The Sims yesterday. I was kind of surprised. was expecting a box via UPS or FedEx. They just slapped a stamp and an address label on the disk and threw it in the mailbox. I'm glad the postman isn't a Sims curious mac user.

Apple are funny, bless 'em. What's stupid about this isn't the fact that it's going to take a while for non-US distribution. Fair enough. It's that Apple think we give a sh*t about how our delivery date compares to those in America. Why do we care about US residents?
