Gary Glitter should be ASHAMED!

The tune "Rock n Roll - pt 2" is still popular after 34 years!

He also did "I Didn'y Know I Loved You Til I Saw You Rock n Roll" from the same "Glitter" album.

It seems he just likes the young girls, though. I say send him to a Vietnamese prison where he can get all the lovin' he wants from young boys . . . or maybe they can just take turns gang-raping him.
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

I'm certain VH1 is just waiting for the resolution of this before whipping out a Gary Glitter: Behind the Music....

Punishment seems a tad harsh, don't you think? Sure, patronizing prostitutes that are minors is a terrible crime, but is it deserving of execution? There are plenty of murderers and rapists in this country that get much more lenient punishments.

Looks like he lost his sparkle a long time ago, and basically has been going from country to country, trying to find children to molest. This guy has serious mental issues, if he's guilty. Also, if he is guilty, considering his background, he should have known that it was possible for him to be executed for his offenses. Apparently he thought sex with kids is worth the risk. I don't agree with capital punishment, but if he's guilty and the ultimate sentence is handed down, at least he won't be going to anymore countrys trying to seduce more kids.
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

Maybe the Vietnamese will play "Rock n Roll - pt 2" at the firing squad date and sychronize the shots with "HEY!"

Meh. Firing squad's for pansies - if they really want to punish the guy, they should make him spend the rest of his life in a Vietnamese prison.

So then, time for the jokes:

Apparently they aren't going to have Christmas lights this year in Vietnam... instead they're going to hang glitter.

Or... the equally hilarious

Following the news that Gary Glitter is to face a firing squad in Vietnam, ITV has announced a special celebrity edition of Shooting Stars.

boom boom

I thank you. Good night.

I don't think you people should judge a man you don't know. As soon as people hear anyone has slept with an underage girl, they think that peson should be tortured or horribly executed.

What defines underage? A girl under the age of 16? What about 15 years, 364 days old?

The transition point to the age 16 is nothing more than a boundary placed there by a narrow-minded judicial system which applies one size fits all rules to humanity, which is extremely varied.

I see girls round my way who are no more than 12 dressing and acting like whores and most lose their virginity by 14. Are they upset that they are being abused? No, because they aren't being abused. Good god, I was sexually curious at the age of 6 and I experimented with sex when I was 9 years old on my own with no abuse or conditioning from anyone.

You can legally have sex with 12 year olds in the Netherlands so how do their kids differ from our kids?

There are some 12 year olds with more emotional and intellectual maturity than some 20+ year olds. What about that girl who was poked in the McDonalds store. She obviously wasn't intellectually mature enough to cope but legally she was.

I'm not trying to condone the practise of child abuse nor am I siding with Gary Glitter but you shouldn't be so judgemental about people you don't know. All you do is pander to the media that controls you.

I don't know if anyone saw that show about finding pedos in the UK and they crashed down doors trying to convict people who had downloaded a few pictures of kids. Whoop di frickin' hoo. What about all the yobs on the streets and the underage kids that are filming themselves masturbating and uploading the videos or the underage rapists who are all getting away with a slap on the wrist for their crimes because they are protected by the narrow-minded boundaries that are used to convict a lot of largely innocent people?

A 61 year old having sex with a 12 year old? Next, you're going to tell us that there's no such thing as "pedophiles", only "child-lovers" ... plus, who said anything about torturing or executing? It's not that anyone posted something like: "bring him here - I'll stick a red-hot poker up his butt". If he committed a crime, he should go to prison - as simple as that. I'm not in favor of the death penalty but if that's the going rate for humping a minor in Vietnam, he should've familiarized himself with the respective local laws before breaking them. Makes him even more of a retard.

Aside from that, I can judge whomever I want - anytime, anywhere - my prerogative.

I see your point osxrules, however, how can you possibly make a case for these Europeans and Americans who travels to asian countries for the sole purpose of having sex with kids. These kids are not 15 and 364 days, but rather 11 years old and a few days old. Families sell them to sex parlors/clubs for a few dollars or the kids are simply taken from villages. They are not in a position physically or mentally to make a decision about their bodies.

The debate about sex and age belongs in a different thread other than this one dealing with a pedophile.

It's a modified (not by me) version of a famous photo - it's not kiddie porn.

Yes, I'm aware of the photo's origins, I was trying to be a little sarcastic.

//Thread jack

Vung Tau is a very nice place to spend a few days on Vacation. I was there with my Wife for a few nights back in June.
Some very nice Hotels along the coast overlooking the beaches. The place is no Halong Bay or Nha Trang but it was nice place to get away from Saigon.

I did not see Gary glitter there at the time, he was probably still in Cambodia or Thailand didling little girls.

//End thread jack

The Jails in Vietnam are BAD, very BAD. He will be lucky to get any food.

This kind of reminds me of when Bush said, "Just help me get this bill through. We can all debate whether it's good or bad later."
