Hi
I just installed the new version of MSN for Mac. I had the same problem with the previous version. Whenever I run MSN I get a "MS Messenger" disk-icon and a "Messenger601.dmg"-icon on my desktop. I would like to move these into my office folder in Macintosh HD, but when I try to drag them I only get shortcuts in the folder. I don't get the option to cut/paste the items.
How can I get rid of these annoying icons on my desktop?
Thanks

Thanks for your reply TETENAL.
OK, I managed to delete the dmg-file, but it seems I am not allowed to delete the diskdrive-icon. I can choose "eject" if i right-click it and the trashcan is changed into an eject-icon.
But I can only eject it when MSN is not running. When I thereafter opens MSN again, the Messenger disk-icon reappears!
How do I avoid that?

If you are not allowed to eject the disk image while MSN is running, then MSN is running off the disk image. That means you didn't install MSN. Read what I wrote about Drag & Drop installation in the other thread and follow that procedure.

Was using the old shortcut in the dock.
Problem solved, thanks :-)
