I just took a pass on it yesterday. It might be a great movie, but the generic sounding plot screamed wait til DVD for me.

Clint Eastwood was really good in the movie, he played a Korean War veteran grumpy old man. Quite literally a "get off my lawn" type of grump old man.
The acting by everyone else was very unimpressive, and the plot was very predictable. I'd say it's rent worthy. If you're in a silly mood, maybe see it in the theatre cuz it's good for a chuckle. 3/5 for me.

The young girl sucked at acting, and the young boy's performance when he was locked in the basement was absolutely laughable. Besides that, Eastwood was fantastic and I did enjoy the movie, especially since my dad owns a '74 Gran Torino Elite and my uncle has a '73 Gran Torino Sport.

I've heard mixed reviews.
I heard Eastwood was good, the premise was good, the bigotry was over the top, bad supporting cast, not executed well.
Definitely worth renting, not sure about paying $20 in a theater to see it.

$8 ticket, me and wife, plus a snack. an easy $20.
I'd rather rent at Redbox for a $1 and sit on my comfy couch in front of my flat screen.

Am I the only person who thinks Clint is overrated as a director?
His movies really lack any sort of subtlety. I always feel like I'm getting bashed over the head with his "message".
That said, I do want to see this, but I'll wait to rent. I rent everything anyway. Going to the movies is for saps.
Also, it's kind of interesting that this movies deals with Hmongs, since one of my friends teaches at one of the only all Hmong schools in the country.
