Under 8.5.1, if you the menu screen "About this computer" Stated the OS as 8.5.1, and ROM 1.0.2. This was on a firware updated BW G3.
I noticed the same menu screen only shows the version number of the OS 8.6, but where did the ROM go?

Thanks again,
Steve

I think Apple took out this feature. I have a iMac (A) and my mac too doesn't show the ROM # in the About this Computer window. But if you need to know the version # of the Mac OS ROM file, go to your System Folder and find the Rom file, do a Get info and your version # should be 1.4.
