Hi all.
I have just bought a new iMac and am trying to set up Mail so that I can read my Yahoo mail on it. However, every time Mail tries to connect to Yahoo's server I get the following message:
"The yahoo.co.uk POP server “plus.pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk” is not responding. Try checking the network connection, and that the server name is correct. Otherwise, the server might be temporarily unavailable. If you continue, you might not be able to receive messages."
AFAIK the server address is correct. Any ideas?

Are you a plus user? Try pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk and see if that helps.

Yahoo only offers webmail (except for the iPhone/iPod touch due to a special deal with Apple).

True, but you can also pay to have POP access and use Mail.app. I tried my spam account in Mail and it informed me that I need to have a paid account to access it.

When I bought our first iMac in April 2009, tech support said that yahoo could not be accessed through Apple Mail. I tried and got the same error message.

I don't think they still offer this.

I was just asked by Yahoo to renew my Plus account so it's still available.

Thanks for all the info.
The odd thing is on my old Mac I did manage to get Mai to connect to my Yahoo account but I gave up on it because of the time it took importing thousands of saved messages. With this being a much faster Mac I thought it'd be worth a try again.
Wonder when it changed?

Its works fine for me with free yahoo, I seem to recall yahoo.co.uk allows pop access while yahoo.com does not.
my settings:
incoming: pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
with SSL turned on with port 995 and password identification in advanced.
