Ok, I hope someone can steer me in the right direction here.
My set up now:
G5(10.5.2) > Ethernet Hub > DSL Modem > ISP
V V
Airport Airport Extreme Base Station
Extreme
Card
PowerbookG4(10.5.2) > Airport Card
Previously, I connected to the Internet with my G5 via Built-In Ethernet, then was able to select share via Built-In Ethernet to my Airport, which would share out to my laptop or my wife's PC laptop with no problem.
I updated the laptop to 10.5 a few weeks ago and no changes or problems with the network.
I updated the G5 today.
Now in the Internet Sharing panel I can 'Share my connection from : Built-in Ethernet'
But only "To computers using: Airport" (picking up my airport card) which sets up a different network other than my AE base station network.
The is no longer the option to share Internet "To computers using: Built-In Ethernet" which is how I was doing it before.
I was using the AE card in the G5 to share my files over Appletalk(which I see no longer exists in 10.5), since I could not share the internet and files over my ethernet connection.
I can share the internet over my AE Card on the G5 now(but not files at the same time), negating any use really for my airport Base Station, which i need for the better range.
I am stumped. Am I being too complicated? Is there a better way to go about this?
I just want to be able to connect to the Internet from my G5(that way if I have any Internet issues I don't have to troubleshoot my AE Basestation), and share the Internet access AND my files wirelessly to my Powerbook and wife or guests PCs.
Any thoughts? Help!!
Thanks!
