I agree with you xcali. Everyone's desktop reflects their own personal taste, and they are each unique in their own way, and like someone here already said taste can't be judged. I know for a fact everyone on here spends a lot of time on their desktops: picking out that perfect wall, matching it up with icons and now all the guitweaking! So its not very nice to talk negatively about people's desktops. I mean we are all learning and always inspired by others even.

Christian I will be honest with you because I already have been in the past, your comments hurt. When you commented on my one desktop I took it off of my host because I felt kind of insecure of it *frown*. Then you told me it was a joke but you sort of do it to a lot of people and I just don't find it funny. Sorry its just not funny I've never met anyone on any forum that dislikes screenshots as much as you.

You are so damn right. I already wrote something after I read his second or third post. His comments aren't appropriate. You can't discuss about design. It's a matter of personal taste, style whatever. The part of this is that his desktops are soooo damn boring and absolutely nothing special. Even if he is making a joke, I would say shut up or tell it your mother....

His comments while annoying and unwanted won't be moderated. He is entitled to his opinion. That being said, one must consider the source. His website alone gives us an insight to his graphic design abilities and thus, his dissatisfaction with others work. Namely envy....just ignore his commentary as I do and keep posting your taste in desktops.

Just the Menubar and titlebars are transparent...all the metal windows are a light yellowish color...i would of gone transparent on the metal windows but some just don't look too good, so just having the carbon/cocoa(i think they both are) title bars transparent gives me a sort of an orginal look.

Well.....I'm very sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings. I had no clue that Desktops were Personal and very Sentiment. I have assumed that desktops were to Show Off and hear what others have to say [ good or bad ].

I have thought that this thread was all about Critical Explanation. I am sorry that I was wrong in this thread.

And to Sweet SweetyMac, there was no justification to what I have said again here's my apology.

Not that I am trying to shoosh you away, 'cause I'm not, but there is a great community for critical desktopping at: www.customize.org. Really, there should be a thread for that here too! It would be great if there was a critique specific area for desktops, themes, cursors... all that.

Just a question. I used to get notified when someone posted to this thread. It has stopped working, and I have verified everything in my subscriptions page. Anyone else seeing this behavior?

I don't think anyone in this forum objects to some **constructive** critique. The key word being **constructive**. Things like, "not my style", "looks sad", "don't like pink"...etc..etc...etc are not constructive, and have no real value. Advice to how something might look better, or how to acomplish a certain style are constructive and often helpful. Just making abscure comments are useless and often come across as being nothing more than snide and somewhat rude.

Anyway.. back to the screenshots!!!

Must be big word day and nobody told me!! Basically what you're trying to say is most people here are dull/lethargic/slow-witted when it comes to criticism. Also, that they are either distasteful..or difficult to tolerate. Why didn't you just say that!!! And I'm sure BBX is a wonderful person, but the era of chivarly, knights in armour and the court of Charlemange are long dead.

Again..nothing constructive in your comments Christain.. just digs and barbs. You're a real charmer!!

Think pretty cool. Except for the lack of shadows which on iTunes really shows off their oversight of not antialiasing the corners. I keep my shadows at very low so they're almost subtle, but you can still tell they're there. I love it. I just hate the stupid WindowShades X bug with shadows being square on rounded windows. (When will they fix that??)
