I always take a Macworld magazine to the toilet with me everytime I go. I've been doing this so long that it's the only time I ever read that thing.

Macworld = toilet literature.

I wouldn't read it anywhere else.

What do you guys read/do on the toilet or is it always a quickie?

Edit: I was inspired to ask this question of all of you when I came across this pic

Reading on the toilet? Isn't that why God invented laptops with wireless internet access?

The toilet is my equal primary reading place, along with the breakfast table. I have a magazine holder beside the toilet which is always full.

This is generally where I first read my issues of Evo, Autocar and Hifi News.

As long as I keep my magazines from overspilling the holder, my wife is ok with it!

Currently, I've taken to playing Sonic The Hedgehog on my cell phone.

Although I agree with JebJeb - Evo is a fine publication to read in the small room.

I would argue that Evo is the finest publication ever to grace the newstands! Superbly written and wonderfully photographed.

One of my minor claims to fame is that I once got letter of the month in Evo. Won a speed camera detector!

Only at home, and usually Stephen King. I tend to re-read them. Rarely do I read any thing I haven't read before when on the toilet.

I stopped having it when they started having their obsession with Minis and other assorted small, underpowered cars. So, no idea what it's like at the moment.

I usually play solitaire on the treo. If someone left a newspaper in the stall, I'll read it.

If I see a guy coming out of a stall with a laptop, I'm going to be stuck with thoughts I don't want to have.

I do remember that time, however, they are back and better than ever.

I never use the detector anymore. Was actually thinking of eBaying it or giving it away. Want something to keep you out of trouble with the big, bad government?!

Out of interest, I won the letter of the month by writing about the 80s/90s Peugeot ad with the 405 driving in front of the burning sugar canes fields to the sound of "take my breath away". Do you remember that? It was filmed at my granddads cane farm in Australia.

Anyway, back OT, I have always wondered how people use a laptop whilst on the throne. How do you balance it on your legs and see the screen or do you "lay back" a bit on the toilet so you can see the screen? Or do you rest it on the floor?

Whereas with a Macintosh Portable, you only crush your thighs

I read typically whatever library book I have checked out. One that's for reading and not for learning flash for instance. Right Now it's the Motley Fool Investment guide.

That's why I won't even touch a library book. They're all tainted.

I'm moving to Brunstrom's neck of the woods in two months' time, so an original Road Angel would be a handy thing. If it's a Road Angel, PM me with how much you want for it.

I have subscriptions to a few gaming magazines, FHM, and MacWorld and they all live in the bathroom. It's the only time I ever read them.

Sports Illustrated comes with me on Wednesday-Saturday. Other times it's Four-Four-Two, or Wired. When I was young, I was all about bringing Archie comics with me to the pooper.

I know it seems pretty freaky to people in the US, but if you use a Bideui (Spelling?) for a week, I'm pretty confidant that most people would use one if offered. They're nice on the bum, and do a heck of a better job than TP.

I wouldn't like the spray that gets on everything else. It'd feel like my whole butt took a shower and shook off some of the water onto my legs. Plus, wouldn't some of the spray splash the butt then go on to "other places?"

Here in Portland, we have a lot of european traditions, like lots of bikes, commuter trains, and fancy ass-cleaning toilets (just to name a few).

Are you talking about Portland, Oregon? Because I don't think I've ever seen a bidet in the 10+ years I've lived here.

Back in Maryland I had a whole bookshelf in the bathroom for all the magazines I got. There were a few other books, but it was mainly computer/women mags.
