Hottie, isn't she? She's been a model for a few years now.

I can't figure out what's worse: the fact that this thread reached 3 pages or the fact that I posted in it.

Yeah man, she a cutie. I'll go as far to say that if she'd been grimacing at me every time I went to Wiki, I'd prolly have donated by now.

Call your local PBS station and ask explicitly if you can buy ad time. The answer is no, they do not have ads.

The corporate sponsorships are essentially donations from various corporations -- they are not explicitly done for publicity purposes. That said, do those corps get publicity, yes, do they likely interfere with the neutrality of programming, yes. Could PBS have ads and continue the same degree of current neutrality. In my opinion, yes, and that was my point.

Further, could Wiki, have google-esque adsense ads and still be user maintained and neutral +/-, yes, absolutely.

Call and ask if you can be a sponsor. Give enough money and they'll mention your organization before and after shows. Same deal with NPR.

Emphasis mine.

Please, please donate so he'll stop.

Seriously though, it looks like they'll make the goal or get close. I predicted they wouldn't. Well deserved kudos for them, parboiled crow for me.

It's rather clever what they did, really. They've been using a sort of Darwinian method to continually tweak the banner while measuring the results, and determine what works best.

They've even been publishing the stats: link

Would it have been too much for them to do some charts of that? Ouch.
