Does look good. I love Pixar movies, and look forward to taking my kids to see this one.
Where did you find this, it's not on Apples quicktime site yet?

The trailer crapped out for me halfway through. An American rat and an American cook in Paris? I don't get it. Why not set it in Springfield?
What they need is Eric Idle or John Cleese to voice the rats with their out rrrajiouss F rrrrench accents!
Pixar is becoming very USA-centric, isn't it?

Wow. That was some shitty compression. Looks like it was 256 colors or something.
And yeah. How did that rat get to Paris anyway? I can understand an incompetent American cook somehow winding up there, but a rat?

It is a movie for children, nerdyboys.
Will I be thinking "why do everyone in París speak Spanish??!".. (probably the thought will cross my mind when I go see it)

Not if you don't watch the dubbed version.
For the first time the dubbed French version would actually make sense.

It is a movie in English or any other language it is dubbed in. It is, in fact in no particular language. Why are you such a nerd?

Huh? No particular language?
Are you claiming that a dubbed version is the way the movie was intended to be watched?

They dubbed over Mad Max to they wouldn't have to figure out Australian accents.
If you're going to make a (hopefully) funny movie set in Paris for English speaking audiences (leaving other languages aside for the moment), you need to do it with outrrrrajious Frrrrench accents, I'm telling ya.*
Imagine Python's Meaning of Life "Mr Creosote" sketch with a cockney sounding "French" Maître-D. Not the same, is it?
*Unless you're dumbing it down for the Americans.

I didn't know that. My kids used to watch so much "Wiggles" that I thought they were all going to grow up with Australian accents, though.

The voice of Bob the Builder is Neil Morrissey, from Men Behaving Badly.
That's the original, funny, UK version of Men Behaving Badly, not the US remake.
A quote I heard today:
England And America are two countries seperated by a common language - Oscar Wilde

Look, if all the characters who are supposed to be french in that movie spoke french as opposed to english with a fake french accent, you might have a point.
In my book there isn't any difference between the surrealism of cartoon parisians speaking american english or english with fake french accent.
Both are insane, but no less that what is expected from an American mainstream cartoon.

Well. Here's my prediction. The main characters will for some reason speak with an American accent and most of the supporting characters will have an outragious french accent.
The creosote scetch wouldn't have worked either if everyone in the restaurant would have had the outragious french accent. The english people like to laugh at the french accent, but *at* it. Not with it.

in the teaser trailer, the maitre'd had an outragioussss french accent, surely that's got to count for something?
I did not know they dubbed bob the builder. but upside-down show isn't, so that also counts.

I am laughing *at* a few of the posters above. When did Pixar become USA-centric? HA HA!!! I forgot how multicultural Toy Story (1&2), Bugs Life, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., and Cars, were. Oh yeah, they weren't.
The only Pixar movie that even comes close to being multi-cultural is Finding Nemo. And even then....
You guys make me laugh. You can bicker about anything on this forum!
On Topic: The logo looks like a shuttlecock. My daughter is going to love this film as long as it ends on a happy note and the rat's life isn't threatened in anyway during the movie. I'd love to see Pixar make a real G-Rated movie sometime. Even Cars was a bit violent and scary for the young.

I'm not entirely sure they're aiming at the same audience as Pooh's Heffalump Movie, when you say "real" G movie that's what I think of. I think Cars was aimed at the 8 yr old group.
Yet I see so many folks bringing their toddlers to Spiderman and such I don't feel bad my kid's first movie was Incredibles.
He's seen the trailer for TMNT and wants to see it. :/ I don't think so young man.

I have no problem with monsters, bugs, super heroes or toys being American (unless their movies were set in France ).
Cars was a bit too star-spangled for my liking, but I suppose that comes with the Nascar racing.
I just think it's weird to set a movie in France and have the lead characters as Americans. Of course, most Americans won't hear it that way. They'll just hear a generic accent.
But for a non-American English speaker, that stands out like tits on a bull.
This movie follows Cars, hence my "USA-centric" line.
A Charles Aznavour styled rat as the lead would be charming. The rat we get just seems... generic. I thought the Pixar guys were better than that.
Voodoo - everyone loves to laugh at accents.

Agreed. Cars wasn't quite as bad as I was expecting, but I still thought it was pretty mediocre.
Fortunately, Ratatouille does look more promising.
P.S. If anyone cares, the 9 minute preview plays quite nicely on the Xbox 360.

The Incredibles was Pixars best to date. I hope this is at least close. I'm not quite sure it will be judging by the previews I've seen so far, but tonight I'll look at the above link.

I loved cars (but I haven't seen the Incredibles yet). Story wasn't the best of their movies, but it was nice and entertaining. The art direction and animation, on the other hand, was the best I've seen from Pixar, I thought.
I'm psyched for Ratatouille, though. Trailers look great.

It is written and directed by the same guy so hopefully.
I watched the trailer above, already looked better than cars but I wonder what they are going to do with the story as I don't know if I can watch a rat cook for 2 hours just like I couldn't watch a car be depressed for 2 hours.

Cool, I just watched the nine minute preview. I didn't know Brad Bird was writing and directing. This might be almost as good as the Incredibles.

This movie looks like it will be another Pixar blockbuster. I liked the trailer, and unlike Cars and the Incredibles (both of which I have never seen), I will actually hit the theatre to see this one.

I think Cars and Toy Story 2 are the only Pixar features I've missed, but I've thoroughly enjoyed them all, and yes, I thought The Incredibles was especially good. Though that is the only one I've seen in a theater, so the setting might have affected my judgment.
Anyway, yeah, I've got to see this'un on the big screen, because the detail in the 720p version, as erik says, is friggin' astounding. I'm amped to have a moviegoing experience to look forward to, especially after last night's massively disappointing Spider-Man 3.

Well, yeah, eventually. But I'll be putting an Intel chip in my lap before one goes on my desk. So a bigger iMac's probably waiting 'til next year. Maybe they'll have a 30" for me..
