right... warping due to heat... Watever. Why are people tripping so much on this heat issue? Get a life. This board has gone to the dogs.

A friend of mine had some issues with the case not being properly fitted - but to be honest we're talking a few millimetres here....

seriously, though, why would you start a thread like this? there's absolutely no grounds to talk about case warping.

Welcome to the boards, andrewh - nice group these folks are, huh?

It's always best to wait for Rev B, but that's easier said than done. I bought the stealth model at first sight. Fortunately I've been lucky so far; knock on wood...

But your concern is legit. Here's a guy who has warping Rev A Mac Pro:

Good luck.

I think this late in the production of the mbp, you shouldn't have any major warping. Imo, the earlier models that came out a couple months ago did have some minor fitment and warping issues.

As for my machine, fitment wasn't perfect, when the lid was closed, the edges would have a minor flare up. And I did have a small warping issue where the speaker panel would flare up above the plastic rim when under where there were a lot of heat. But I fixed it myself.

I would suppose Apple has fixed or made adjustments to their production line to fix these minor problems. I wouldn't let little things like these get in the way of purchasing a MBP because it really is one Hell of a machine.

Hmm . . . any moment now Macintouch should have a reader report about warping MacBooks. You better careful posting in this thread, someone may rope you into a class-action suit without your knowledge.

I just got my "black mac" and lo and behold I can't get CDs/DVDs in or out of the superdrive cause the case is warped. Fortunately, the retailer is going to replace it as soon as they get some more in. :-( I would say that they are still having warpage problems in their manufacturing process.

I had my 1.83 replaced with a 2.00 and the new one has minor warping. It had none of the problems my old one had so I am going to live with it. You can barely feel it rock on the right hand side.
