Just wondering if anyone can help me with beginning to learn how to burn DVDs....i know you can on the new MacBooks, but i have some home DVDs that i'd really like to burn....thanks for any help provided!!

You need to make a Burn Folder, and then click on Burn once your files are in the folder.

Or put in a blank DVD and have it "Open in Finder," then just drag what files you want to copy over to the disc. Open the disc, then click the Burn button.

Or, if you want more control, you can purchase Toast.

Check out VideoHelp.com. There's information there on how to back up your "home DVDs".

so if i have a "home DVD" i just need to save it to my iDVD folder? then i enter a blank one?... sorry im pretty DVD-R illiterate right now, just trying to learn! thanks!!

Are you trying to make additional copy of a home made DVD?

yes...like i have a bunch of like home movie type stuff all edited on a DVD and need to make a copy...i just don't know how yet?...should i just call AppleCare??

I could be wrong, but I dont think iDVD lets you copy DVD's...you may have to buy additional software if you want to copy DVD's.

Yeap, and if you wanted to make a backup copies of your data files (non-movie).

For just duplicating a standard DVD, I imagine Apple's instructions should apply.
