Hi...
Today the RAM I ordered recently finally arrived, but it's not working. It's not recognized by my Mac, neither with MacOS X 10.1.5 nor with Mac OS 9.2.2
Here's a screenshot of what Apple System Profiles thinks says:
Is there anything I can do besides sending it back?

pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid across the line broadside,
thoroughly used up, worn out, leaking oil, shouting GERONIMO!"

In a word, no. Clearly there's something wrong with the RAM and you Mac can not use it.
What size is the DIMM? Is it 512MB? Earlier Macs don't support 512MB DIMMs, so it may be that the DIMM is just too big for your machine.
If it is 512MB and your Mac does support these DIMMs, then there's something wrong with it and you need to send it back.
Apple's Specifications site lists all Mac models and tells you what size DIMMs they support.

In case you didn't hear, a while back, the G4 Firmware updates broke some RAM modules...There was some sort of fix posed on xlr8yourmac.com, not sure if you can still find it...if not, then you'll have to send it back...I've been lucky 'cuz ALL the cheap RAM i bought works flawlessly with my G4/450 ^_^; (except 1 has a 3-2-2 latency...grr...must be the ONLY PC100 stick that came with my computer...all others are underclocked cheap PC133s)

G4/450, T-bird 1.05GHz, iBook 500, iBook 233...4 different machines, 4 different OSes...(9, 2k, X.1, YDL2.2 respectively) PiA to maintain...

I see that you are in Munich. I am a student of the technical university here. There is an Apple Beratungszentrum' here that could help you. Their address is
www.macintum.de
They are a bunch of MacHeads

The program that checks for whether or not your RAM is compatible with the firmware update (4.1.9 on the Cube, not sure what it was on other G4s) that disabled out-of-spec RAM is
http://www.mactcp.org.nz/dimmfirstaid.html
If the RAM is out of spec, this program can usually fix it.

Just tried DIMM First Aid and I did not succeed. DFA says that this DIMM has problems that DFA can't fix. Seems like I'll really have to send it back... rats
