I just got done with language immersion in Brazil and I have Portuguese set as my primary language on my Mac. What's cool is in all apps that have realtime spellchecking, it is apparently now going off of the same language. My question is where is this data being pulled from? When I open the dictionary application, it's still entirely in English and if possible I would like to see entries in Portuguese when I'm using it.

So my questions - where is the computer pulling its spellcheck data from and how do I add another language to the Dictionary app?

Simple answer - you can't add another language to the Dictionary.app. Sucks, but it is English only.

Anyway, the system doesn't use it for its spelling checker, it uses the AppleSpell.service in /System/Library/Services.
