Have been having issues getting my email tonight, with mail.app timing out when trying to access the server, so have had to use webmail.
Webmail is now down though, and I get a '504 Gateway Timeout' error?!
Could this be part of the rumoured upgrade, or just things going wonky?
it's not my network either, as tried on my work broadband connection, and my parents were having the same issues at their house.
Strange!

Same problem here; I checked the .Mac website and the status said something to the effect that all users can get mail via webmail, but may experience long waits to download mail.
I'm HOPING this is all related to the rumored upgrade to .Mac to offer a BES-like experience (push email, wireless calendar and contact syncing).

Now I cannot access www.mac.com. Maybe the overhaul is happening now and we'll get treated to iPhone 2.0 software and wireless syncing and push email by morning.
Here's hoping...

I think its ridiculous that they'd cause an outage for a new rollout w/o any warning. People rely on email for lots of reasons.
I'm not jumping to conclusions yet but I really did need to get to my email

It's right there on mac.com:
100% of members might experience slower than normal response when using IMAP mail. Mail can be sent and received using .Mac webmail

.Mac has been broken since it was introduced. iTools forever.
Yeah, I haven't been able to use mine either. I was able to load mac.com once a few minutes ago, but it timed out on login. Good thing Gmail is my normal mail.
