I prefer the old white keyboards (like G5 came with)
I had a source for new ones, but they closed.
I found a guy on ebay who sells reburbished, and asked him if they work on new imacs and he said, he does not think so, but I can return it within 30 days.. (what kind of lame response is that?)
The 'new' old ones I would buy work fine on my new 27" imac, but I thought I would ask this ebay guy anyway.
Anyone else know, and like old white keyboards?

Andi, what is a newer tower? You still buy oh... they still make those towers boxes, for video editing or something?
You like them too? Should work fine all all new imacs no?
USB, but these were made probably with USB 1. Does it matter for a keyboard or even a corded mouse that plugs into it? I don't think so.

I have tested an old USB keyboard from 1999 (with puck mouse, so USB 1) on a MacPro 2009. It worked.
The convenience ports will be limited to whatever USB speed the keyboard is. And the old power button will not work to start a modern Mac. It will work to bring up a shutdown menu though.

My Apple USB keyboard from 2000 works on my late 2015 iMac, though I didn’t exactly run it through its paces.

USB keyboards will just work. Of course, the white keyboards are fairly old by now and you may have some problems due to that. But on the other hand, keyboards often will work for years on end.

I've got a couple of the black/clear USB keyboards from old PowerMac G4s I think and they work just fine As mentioned any USB keyboard will. You might have a few issues here or there with one or two lesser used keys but for most purposes you're good.

I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Sometimes is hard to find the old classic keyword, but I also prefer the keyword without that many sound on it when you use it.
